The Cedar Cove house is just that, a beautiful cove on Rough River Lake. Many close by restaurants. Only one miles away you'll have access to Rough River State Park lodge with dinning ,music and activities. A Marina for boat rentals and boat ramps is available. Lafayette Golf Course an 18 hole course with a total of 72 par and the distances range from 4200 - 6900 yards. Open to the public. Soft spikes are only permitted on the course. Sit on the deck and enjoy watching the kids swimming in the lake. Relax in the evenings roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. Early mornings on the screened porch is a guest favorite.

The spaced
Easy access from the street to the main level of the house. Also a gentle slope to the water. There is a fully functional kitchen with most all kitchen ware. Efficient open concept kitchen and living room. Master bedroom on main level with a shared Master bath to the hallway. Upstairs has 2 more bedrooms and a half bath. The lower level has a family room with 3 reclining chairs, large screen TV and full bath. French doors leading to the larger deck from this level. It has a gas grill, griddle, 2 tables and multiple chairs for plenty of seating. Floatation devices some adult life jackets and 2 kayaks available. Best of all no steep steps to the water. So, come enjoy our place winter or summer.

Other things to note
**Please note that the Corp of Engineers does not allow guests the use of the dock. There is a bank that boats can be banked in front of the house on the lake side for loading and unloading. State park Marina 1 mile away has low cost boat slips that you may rent by the day. It is however first come first serve.
Lake levels reduce in cold months, a great time to hike and explore the lake bottom.
*** 5/13/23 I wanted to make guest aware that lake levels this year will be 5 feet lower due to Dam Repairs. Swimming and fishing should still be great fun and launching a boat at the ramp at state park will still be available. We hope to move our docks up the shore for better access to the water while the repairs are in process.

Summary: Perfect location!!! We loved the house and the closeness to the lake with dock. Very spacious and very clean. The owner went way over and beyond for us and was easy to get ahold of. We are hoping this house will be our new house for Labor Day weekend!!! Thank you!

Summary: My family had a great time! The place is clean and in a great location on the lake. The walk from the house to the dock is easy. We have been coming here for 3 years and will be back again next summer!

Summary: We didn’t get to use the house much or even walk down to the lake. We mostly had coffee in the morning and just slept there because we were busy at our cousin’s house and the state park for our annual family reunion. The house was perfect for the 4 of us and we didn’t even need one bedroom or the downstairs. We would stay again!

Summary: Nice screened in porch. Easy slope to water. well equipped small kitchen. We brought our boat and tied up with no problem. The State ramp is nearby. state dock/fuel nearby. We had a nice stay. Had a good meal at nearby Big Mouths restaurant. This is listed as a non-smoking property, however, the home had a very very very very strong weed odor which was a bit offensive. One of us also had an allergic reaction to a blanket with probable animal dander. There is a firepit, but no firewood. The parking is limited. All in all, We spent most of our time on the lake and had a great time.

Summary: We really liked staying at this property! We stayed over the week of Thanksgiving to attend dinner at the home of nearby family. We had 6 adults and 2 teens ranging 12-80 and there was adequate space for everyone. It was also easily accessible for 3 seniors, one of which is completely blind. The house is extremely clean, well furnished, and has comfortable bedding and a well-stocked kitchen. The 3 levels gave us all space. I can see that this would be a fantastic place for a summer stay with the outdoor spaces and the lake. However, the house doesn't have hot tub as the listing states and the owner requests that you take showers, not baths, even though it does have a tub. The only negative for me was the lack of transparency about having to conserve water due to there being a septic or black water tank. I feel like this should be clearly stated in the listing. I have never encountered this in renting homes many places, including drought states, like California. We only stayed 4 nights in November, so it wasn't a problem for us. However, if I were planning to stay there a week in the summer I would expect to be able to do a couple loads of laundry per day of towels and swimsuits for hygienic purposes. The listing states there is a washer and dryer, but doesn't mention that personal laundry is limited. I only found that out after booking. For a long weekend or if you don't mind the water limitations this is an outstanding,fantastic rental. I would definitely stay there again!
