Our self-contained Cottage is a well appointed, brand new, modern, double glazed and fully insulated relaxing getaway. We are on the outskirts of Martinborough on a small sheep and beef farm. The cottage is private from our house and looks out across native bush from the bedroom, lounge and a substantial covered in deck, where there are regular sightings of wild deer. Moreporks can be heard chorusing during the night and the Tui's during the day.
We are approx 10 minutes into Martinborough town, supermarket, cafes, hotels, restaurants and wineries. Greytown is a 30 minute drive away.
Morepork Cottage has one Queen Bed and a pull out double couch for any extras.
Morepork Cottage contains a gas hob, microwave and a BBQ on the covered in deck.
Happy to help guests by providing a drop off and pick up for Martinborough events with prior notice for small fee.

Summary: Our third time staying here and we’ll be back again. It’s just a nice quiet peaceful and relaxing spot. The place is always clean, easy to stay warm and it’s great sitting on the couch watching the cows and sheep listening to the moreporks when it’s dark.

Summary: After tripping around the Nth Island, our three night stay here was perfect place to unwind - everything we needed right down to electric blankets, was provided. The setting among the old totara trees dotted throughout the farm was very unique. A fabulous place to rest a while and enjoy nature- but the vineyards and cafes in Martinbough are 12minutes drive away.

Summary: Drive out of Martinborough and down the farm road to find an attractive little unit which is outstanding in it's field... a field dotted with native trees and sheep... peaceful and beautiful. The cabin is clean, comfortable, well designed and well equipped. The highlight is the night sky filled with oceans of stars.. genuinely awesome. Altogether a great experience.

Summary: Lovely and quiet, the Unit is set in a perfect location for a getaway, it’s modern, very clean and yet has that rustic feel. It looks out over native bush and we observed wild deer moving through bush clearings directly opposite the Batch. Also more pork calling at night and plenty of Tūī to greet you in the morning. The large covered deck and couch with open fire pit were magnificent. Can’t fault the presentation or location and Mike was a great host - even offering us breakfast up at the main farm house.

Summary: Do yourself a favour and stay at this property. For a couples get away this was exactly what we wanted. It’s got gas hob, good heater (not that you need need it with the double glazed windows), great comfy bed and the hosts are extremely welcoming. The outside area has a lovely big glass window to shelter you from the elements and we spent a night with the brazier lit. We very much will want to come back.
