Positive: The staff are amazing and incredibly accommodating, the food was extremely delicious and filling. It has been one of our favorite part of the whole japan trip. Definitely gonna come back

Positive: Every part of Tanigawa was so thoughtfully designed and presented. Proper Ryokan style with modern comfort. The staff were very friendly and attentive to all our needs, they met us at the driveway and helped us in with luggage, always checked in each day to make sure they booked in the times we wanted for breakfast and dinner etc they were always very helpful. The public onsen was very large and beautiful. The outside areas were lovely when the snow was falling. Dinner and breakfast was served in separate private booths and we had some of the best meals we have ever had in this hotel. I would highly recommend Tanigawa and we will definitely be staying there again.

Negative: Didn't have any laundry facilities although there was a coin laundry a few kms away although if you did not have a car it would be a pain.

Positive: Traditional Japanese ryokan set in a valley. Onsen on-site. Free shuttle service to station. Friendly staff and good food but a bit repetitive. Free snacks and drinks in lobby area. Comfortable bed.

Negative: You need to get used to the rules a bit but it’s not rocket science. Limited food options nearby.
