Positive: The view was amazing. Lake and Fuji. The vibe is very old school Japanese, the staff is super friendly, the grounds are peaceful. We got an in-room massage and it was incredible!!! Honestly so great - long time pros!
Negative: A bit far from any town, but they have shuttles, so really not too bad, but something not too convenient. And it was really quite dated - but they upkeep it nicely and considering where you are and the kind of place, it wasn’t a huge bother, but definitely noticeable. Some upgrades could benefit it a lot. And the food was very mid… we had dinner, and it was like, let’s just eat to nourish ourselves, but we didn’t exactly enjoy it, and a bit expensive for that experience, but again… you are where you are and it’s not the worst thing when you piece it all together.
Summary: Cozy, friendly, beautiful views and nature - a bit outdated, but clean and spacious.

Positive: The view was breathtaking. The room with the private onsen was very comfortable and spacious. The food was amazing! We were especially impressed and pleased with the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The location was convenient, right by the ropeway and also Hakone-en ferry pier, shops, restaurants and a few other attractions. Transportation was also very convenient, with hourly shuttle service to Motohakone.
Negative: The place is very dated and can definitely benefit from a remodel.
