Summary: The staff were exceptional! Professional and had paid attention to detail. Onsen was such an experience!! Very clean facilities, amenities were amazing, well kept hotel despite its history. Definitely avail for the free shuttle bus from Odawara station in Hakone to your hotel and back but make sure you do a reservation for this especially if you are traveling with luggage. Message Ryuguden hotel through Expedia for reservations. If you travel Light or miss the shuttle bus, there is local transportation service that will stop near the hotel.

Summary: Excellent views from the room. The property is very outdated. The smell of humidity is terrible. The breakfast was very sophisticated for western palates, and there wasn’t an option to get a different kind food.

Summary: The property and experience at the spa, and the food, was overall amazing. However, there is not a lot to do outside of the hotel except for some activities but not a lot.

Summary: Amazing property. Charm and service. Views of mt fuji from the room. Some of the best dinning i've had in Japan. Private onsen was a treat. Public Onsen spaces were amazing.

Summary: Some of my highlights of this stay were the view, the location, the food, and the service! Those components made for a wonderful stay in Hakone. However, I felt that the room and the hotel seem a bit outdated as a lot of the cabinets were chilling, and there was no air conditioning during our stay. The control panel seems to be broken as the dial didn’t work, but we were later informed that the hotel was running the heat during the time. Fortunately during our visit, Hakone was a bit cooler which the Dyson air fan was helping a little bit. Overall, there were a lot of positives about the hotel that overshadowed the negatives. However, we were expecting a better property condition for the price we paid.

Summary: This was a great spot to have some peace and quiet during our busy JAPAN trip. I do have to say that all that changed when a large group came in. The servers were overwhelmed and we were all but forgotten. It changed the whole vibe of the place having a large group talking loudly and being demanding. It would have been perfect otherwise.
