Enjoy the experience and history of Seneca Lake living at Schoolhouse Cottage! This historic school house has been lovingly renovated and restored from baseboards to rafters, giving you the feel of lakeside luxury, while still maintaining the quality historic feel that we know and love in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
Drive down the quiet, dead-end road to the property, arriving in the rear, with ample parking space, and a cozy backyard area for children to play in. Entering the home, you will be greeted by the open floor plan, living and kitchen area. The large, fully modern kitchen features dark wood cabinetry and stainless steel appliances, upscale gas range, a wine cooler, and granite kitchen counter tops – a chef's dream! Even has filtered water at the sink! Lake facing windows offer a lake view while prepping meals, or enjoying a quick snack at the bar side of the island.
Directly in front of the kitchen is the living area, complete with overstuffed furniture and a large, flat screen TV for movies on quiet indoor nights at the lake. Venturing outside through the French doors, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Seneca sunrises on the covered porch, which spans almost the entire front of the home.
To the side of the great room is the spacious Master Suite, featuring a King size bed, 40” flat screen TV, ensuite bathroom, and a private walkout to the covered front porch. Two additional bedrooms, and a shared full bath are just off the hallway in the rear of the home. A set of stairs to the lower level leads to the game/rec room, where guests can enjoy a rousing game of fooseball or watch TV and lounge on the full size futon on a rainy day.
All on one level, with 11' vaulted ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and quality furnishing, you won't want to go home!
Take the stair case down to the lakefront, where you can use the permanent dock to enjoy some lakefront coffee in the mornings, or mooring your boat after enjoying some quality Seneca Lake fishing. Many fine wineries are just a short drive away, and you sit directly on the main route for the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, and just 15 minutes from the Keuka Lake Wine Trail. The quiet residential road is also great for walking and biking to stretch your legs after a delicious meal of local food. Summary: Our stay was great! The house was perfect and the view was beautiful. We even met family members of the home owners at Fox Run! It was a little bit of a drive around the lake, but really not bad at all. So much to see and do, even if this was the off season. Would stay agin if we get the chance.

Summary: Spent the weekend with friends at Schoolhouse Cottage. I have been coming to Finger Lakes past 20 years and the cottage was one of the best places I ever rented. Location was perfect, cottage super clean and comfortable. Highly recommend place and would definitely stay here again.

Summary: The house is WONDERFUL! Quiet street, great open space! Kitchen is stocked enough when it comes ton pots and pans and utensils ! I would suggest packing ziplock bags or your own leftover containers if you are gonna cook. 7 people some with a couples showers a day and never ran out of hot water! Ceiling fans in 2 of the bedrooms. The back porch….. OMG We lived there! The VIEW, ceiling fans and seating was AWESOME! Plenty of space for all 7 of us! OUR only issue was we did not see the instructions on how to lock the two French doors. The management company never got back to us. We did not use the kayaks because they were difficult to get to. WE WILL GO BACK!!!

Summary: The house was perfect for a wine weekend away. There were 8 of us total, the kitchen had man amenities, matched the photos and was plenty spacious. The views were stunning and the deck was perfect for sunbathing. The only hang up we had was parking, we were only allowed 3 spaces when the property could have fit more cars. We parked the others at the rental office 15 minutes away but wished we could have parked at the house. All that said I would fully recommend and hope to be back in the future!
