Positive: Super location by the sea. Manager very helpful. Building very nice with lots of history. We had all our dietary needs met.
Negative: The internet was not very good. It is a dog friendly hotel, but some dogs barked.

Negative: The overall cleaning standards should be improved, as the cleanliness is not consistently up to standard. At times there is running water and at other times not. The basin is occasionally cleaned, but not always, and the bathtub is also not particularly well maintained. Furthermore, the carpet does not appear to have been vacuumed. In addition, the Wi-Fi connection is very poor, and it is often difficult to connect at all.”

Positive: This is a beautiful old building in a stunning location. The room we booked (deluxe double) was large and spacious. We had dinner at the property on the first night and the food was lovely. The bed was comfy and the location was quiet and peaceful. Our room had beautiful sea views.
Negative: The website describes the hotel as 4 star luxury but it really didn't feel like a 4 star hotel. The rooms need a refresh and the bathroom was grubby in places. The only shower in the room was an overhead waterfall shower meaning it was impossible to shower without also washing your hair (folk with longer hair will understand). No shower caps were provided so I asked for one and it was provided no problem at all, but it was such poor quality that it was useless. The duvet cover didn't fit the duvet and this hung out, this is unhygienic and did not look like luxury. There are no plug sockets near the bed so devices need to be charged on the floor after scrambling around under furniture to find them. This could be easily fixed with an extension cord. The bedside lamp was also faulty. There is no full length mirror or fridge in the room. None of these things are major in any way, but as the hotel is marketed as 'luxurious' it felt like we didn't get value for money. Another minor thing (but they all add up) is that reception staff don't greet you when you walk in through reception. It just seemed a bit impersonal. This could be an absolutely stunning hotel with a bit more care and attention to the little things. If you have booked here you will have a very pleasant stay in a lovely location, but you won't get the luxury you were promised or paid for.
