The privately owned Alpine Style lodge set in a wooded valley.
There are 3 large bedrooms downstairs , the main bedroom has en-suite bathroom. There is a separate shower room with WC and basin. Upstairs is the well equipped kitchen with full size cooker, microwave, dish washer and washing machine. under counter fridge and separate freezer..
The lounge/diner is furnished with 2 large sofa's. Dining table and chairs for 6 person's , TV with free view channels and separate DVD player. There is a large window with glass door opening onto large wooden balcony which has wooden patio furniture.
There is free WiFi in the lodge.
Onsite facilities include bar/restaurant, heated outdoor pool (summer only), indoor heated pool with children's splash pool open all year, games room, and fitness center. There is also
two children's play area's and outdoor tennis courts. These facilities are included in the price.
Location and Places to Visit
The site is set in the beautiful Tamer Valley on the Cornwall/Devon boarder and is ideal as a base to visit both Counties.
It is close to Dartmoor National Park and Morwellham Quay which is a living Museum of Victorian Life .
There are a number of National Trust and English Heritage properties to visit & enjoy including nearby Cothele House and Launceston Castle.
Within 40 -50 mins drive you can visit either the North or South Coast of Cornwall.
North Coast the nearest sandy beaches are at Bude ,and Widemouth, but places to visit further afield are Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Issac (Dr Martin is filmed here)
On the South Coast the nearest sandy beaches are at Seaton, Millendreath and the Fishing Port of Looe. Places further afield are Polperro, Charleston with its double harbour, where there are at times tall ships, (Scenes from Poldark is filmed here} there is also a Shipwreck and Heritage Centre. The world famous Eden Project is Nr St Austell.
The Historic Naval town of Plymouth with its shops, restaurants and Aquarium is worth a visit.
For golf lovers St Mellion Golf course is a 10 mins drive away.
It is an ideal location for family holidays with children during school holidays. During the other weeks it is perfect for people that like to walk, cycle, or if just want to relax in the beautiful and quiet Valley.

Summary: We felt cozy and at home there. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing we didn't like was the food at the pub. The pub looks awesome, but it's too bad the food is awful.

Summary: For us it was a lovely break as we wanted to just relax out. Our lodge was good and all 4 adults, 2 children and 1 dog had plenty of space to move around. I do think the swimming pools, shop, games room and park need updating we did not use the gym so can not remark. The pub was lovely and friendly and the carvery was brilliant. We thought it good for a long weekend.

Summary: We had an excellent 10 days, clean comfortable lodge with a fully equipped kitchen. We ate out most days & can recommend The Rifle Volunteer which is within walking distance. Our children enjoyed the pools & games room. It was a great base to visit Cornwall and Devon, we would definitely stay again.

Summary: The lodge was easy to access on the site. The pub and gym were close and easy book/use. Unfortunately for us, the WiFi was down the entire week. There was also a lot of work going on around us in other accommodation. Not a lot close by and had to travel to Covid-permitted entertainment etc. Weather was perfect for 3 of our 5 day stay so alittle easier. However the final few were more difficult to do. Owner of the lodge was easy to talk to if anything arises.
