Summary: The property located at a beautiful forest and no far travel to town. Our families and friends had a wonderful trip during the stay. Just little bit problem about the water supply. But the owner try his best to settle. Highly recommended for big party

Summary: Our family of 14 spent 3 nights here and there def were issues. 1) Wrong door code was provided. As there's no cell reception there, it's hard to get a hold of the owner/property manager. Luckily, we were able to get through and a new code was given within 10 mins. Still annoying when you're ready to check in. 2) Lots of plumbing issues. Both showers' faucets were not caulked in and are about to be ripped off the wall. Both shower diverters are glitchy and I believe it's causing a leak through the floors. Due to these issues, water started leaking from a hole in the ceiling into the games room. We can still play games but we had to put towels and a bucket down. 3) Hot tub was murky with floaties on top. I did not go in. 4) Strong sewage smell in the backyard. Very overpowering when you're standing on the back deck or playing outside. I guess that's why they set up the badminton net in the front yard. 5) Coffee maker was broken. 6) Garbage bins were full so we couldn't put our recycling/garbage out. 7) There is a trailer on the property that has someone living there. That didn't bother us except that they had garbage out that animals got into so garbage was strewn across the yard. Very unattractive driving into your place to see garbage everywhere. Besides not being able to use the shower, hot tub, or coffee maker, our family made the best out of the situation. Still, I would not recommend this place until the issues are deal with.

Summary: My group and I were here for 4 nights and had a great stay here. The property is huge with a functional front and backyard. The home itself is lovely and spacious. We took advantage of it being close to South Benson where we did some great mountain biking we also did day trips to other mid island areas. The house is spacious and modern. We took advantage of all its amenities such as the hot tub, games room (foosball and air hockey tables). We even spent a night telling tall tales around the large outdoor fire pit. A few things popped up during our stay and the owners got right back to us and delt with it. I have no issues recommending here for your stay in the Nanaimo mid island area

Summary: Pros: Beautiful location, wonderful bedding options, open living room and kitchen which are well appointed, lots of sitting areas, functional grill and hot tub. Cons: The host was initially difficult to get a hold of. The automated VRBO messages (once we had fully paid) stated we get the check-in information 3 days prior to our arrival which we did not. When I didn't hear anything 2 days before our arrival, I was concerned and contacted Pat directly. He did contact me later that day and we sorted out the lack of information. There is a man living in a trailer beside the house. There is a privacy screen but he has clear sightlines to the front of the house and backyard. While there is a lovely view of the forest, there are currently no curtains on the east side of the house. In 30+° weather, it was like waking up and walking on the sun when you left the bedrooms. Pat did install a small AC unit; however, it was not sufficient for the task of combating that direct sun. This heat lingers on the main floor the whole day. No screens on any of the windows. When you open the windows at night to cool off, ALL the bugs come in. Significant plumbing issues. One of our party works in construction and confirmed these are issues that need to be resolved ASAP. I don't have room to write them all here. Note: Water is delivered to a cistern on the property. Pat made sure it was full for our stay, but you will need to be conservative with water if it is a large group and hot weather.

Summary: An amazing property for a large group of friends or family. We hosted a group of 13 adults and had a comfortable stay. Great location within walking or a short drive to swimming spots in the Nanaimo river. The host was very responsive to questions about the property and the general area.
