Secluded, Private Gem with great views and near to Lake Nighthorse. Enjoy the beauty of each season. Spring awakens the buds on the trees during cool days and the flowers anxiously wait for the warm days of summer. Stars cascade their shower of diamonds during the nights spent gazing at the sky in quiet relaxation. Fall brings the beauty of autumn colors with warm days and cool evenings. Winter holds the spectacular vistas of snow covered mountains and lazy snowflakes drifting to cover the evergreens and hills. The evenings by the fireplace provide relaxation from sledding on the hill just outside the house or a day on the slopes. Our cozy home is like going for a visit to the comfort and relaxation of Grandma’s house with the modern amenities of today all wrapped into one. The home is throughly cleaned and sanitized by us personally between each stay. Wildlife abound, deer, elk, turkeys, eagles and distant coyote calls make this a true home in nature. Hiking and just strolling the private trails on the nearly 5 fenced acres surrounding the home complete the relaxing experience. Mountain View’s are enjoyed all around the home.
Durango is a short 10 minute drive - unique restaurants, mountain bike trails, lake activities, zip lining, walking trail by the Animas river, historical museums and movies theaters.
The famous million dollar highway takes you to Silverton’s breathtaking mountains and waterfalls and you can continue on to Ouray and Telluride for a trip back in history. Travel all within a day’s trip and then return for a relaxing evening at home or short trip to Durango for dinner at one of Durango’s excellent restaurants in the historic downtown. We’re just a few minutes away from Hesperus Ski Area and Chapman Hill that has sledding and ice skating right in Durango’s downtown area. Purgatory Resort is about 30 minutes to skiing in the high country. Come and experience each season with us!

Summary: Great location tucked away in the mountains. Amazing view in the mornings, off of the deck. We enjoyed our stay. We love the area and come annually to ride the million dollar highway and scenic canyons on the Harley's. Thank you!

Summary: Easy drive from town. Lots of wildlife. Upper and lower decks are great places to hangout. Some of the plumbing has hot and cold reversed. Just be aware - we had one person taker a cold shower because he didn't figure this out! Be careful turning around in the driveway so you don't hit the bank or get into the loose gravel. Individual rooms have A/C so you have it if you need it.

Summary: We had a girls weekend in Durango here! It was such a fun time. We ate on the back porch and relaxed in the living room in the evenings. Our host was super responsive and answered questions quickly.

Summary: Everything thing was good, it was hotter than expected so the temperature in the house was uncomfortable. Wanted to cook breakfast but there was no skillet or griddle, we had to purchase them. We had two elderly persons who had issues with the steps to enter the house once in they were fine on the one level. The rest of family was fine with the stairs and entrance. The drive to and from town was beautiful and we enjoyed the deck area at different times of our stay.
