If you are looking for a secluded property with beautiful views, yet close to many of the attractions of Tuscany, this could be for you. On a tranquil Tuscan hilltop, a comfortable farmhouse/villa with a large pool. Wander acres of olive groves, dine al fresco beneath starry skies. Elevated above the Chiana valley this is a peaceful Tuscan farmhouse surrounded by acres of olive groves. The old building had been left to ruin, but a careful restoration transformed its fortunes; a new stone facade, terracotta floors and beamed ceilings blend tradition with solid modern comfort. Through the wooden arched doors interiors are cosy and rustic. Plump sofas surround an open fire, while checked curtains add a touch of English country style. A long pine table is great for sociable dinners in the kitchen, or you can eat al fresco beneath the pergola or impressively starry skies. Good sized bedrooms are simple and fresh; most have garden views and one has an en-suite shower room. A terracotta terrace with a barbecue and outdoor seats frame the house, and there's a gorgeous swimming pool just beyond. Walks from the door head through olives, chestnut and oak woods where you might spot wild boar, foxes and porcupines. The house is in beautiful countryside close to the historic village of Civitella and superbly located for art and culture and all the historic towns and villages of Tuscany and Umbria. Florence is about 1 hour away, Siena and Cortona about 50 minutes, whilst Perugia and Assisi are within easy reach.
The pool is normally open and heated from mid-May, however it can be made available earlier on request. Until mid-May there will however be a charge to cover the cost of electricity for heating the pool.

You have a wonderful place in the hills with such terrific views and challenging walks. (May 2013) We had a great time at the villa, and enjoyed the pool very much. It was all kept in excellent order by the people who came in at various times to do the pool, garden aand the sheets/towels - all very friendly and I think we managed to communciate despite our total lack of Italian. They were very quick to get the sun umbrella for the pool area repaired. We would certainly recommend the villa to friends. (September 2013) We left your lovely house yesterday morning after a wonderful week. All went well and we left the house as we found it. During the week we have met your friendly gardener and the man who came to check if everything was OK. (July 2013) Thank you for your email, we had the most fabulours week, thank you so much! We were so lucky with the weather, it was glorious and added to the enjoyment of the stunning scenery, etc. (April 2013)

Summary: Family of 7 adults spent 1 week in beautiful secluded Tuscan farmhouse. Great location for visiting the region - Arezzo short drive. Florence Pisa approx. 1.5 hours. Beautiful hilltop villages, olive groves and vineyards. Quintessential Tuscany!

Summary: Quiet, charming location which was central for day trips to Monte San Savino, Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Cortona, Montepulciano and many other villages in Tuscany. The pool was lovely, gazebo had honeysuckle and other flowering vines surrounding it which was a nice location to get out of the sun. Many olive trees surround the house and we did manage to see a wild boar, many geckos, birds and even a snake.

Summary: Large and comfortable and very secluded tuscan country house. Spacious rooms, very good for large families or groups of friends. The house is well equipped. Big garden and pool are strong points for summer stays. Host was always available to meet our needs. We spent great times. Arrivederci!

Summary: We enjoyed a lovely week in Val di Chiana in this beautiful remote spot. The hosts helped us to find the property when we first got there. The house is great. There were some issues with the water supply but they responded to the problem very promptly.

Summary: We had a pleasant and wonderful time with eight adults (parents + 6 young people between 20 and 26) in Civitella in Val di Chiana. The location has a nice swimming pool where we spent some time. From the cottage there are many opportunities for walking and cycling to nice places; Monte San Savino, Lucignano and many more picturesque villages nearby. The garden and the swimming pool are neatly maintained every week by the employees of poolgarden. The cottage looks very neat and actually offers everything you need. We like to cook ourselves and there were plenty of things available for that too. Our host Valentin was quick to respond to our questions and get us well on our way. Thank you for the hospitality and opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place. A place that we want to recommend to everyone!

Summary: The setting for the villa is fantastic, great pool, stunning views and very secluded. The property itself was ideal, well presented and very spacious. the pictures do not do it justice. Valentin was very responsive before the trip, and always available if we needed anything during our stay. If you can drag yourself away from the pool, then Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Arezzo are all within easy reach and well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Summary: When I dreamed of staying in a beautiful and private Tuscan villa, this property was exactly what I had in mind. Large and comfortable, with a gorgeous pool, secluded in our own olive grove. Perfect for lazing around by the pool, spritzes under the pergola, or short day trips to Arezzo and Siena. The most amazing scenery all around us. There is a mountain bike trail for those that dare to ride in the magnificent surroundings. The villa has a well appointed kitchen and excellent wifi. You won’t want to leave. Valentin is easy to contact and quick to respond, a delight to deal with. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this blissful villa 😀

Summary: We spent two weeks in this house over Christmas/New Year and experienced it as spacious and cozy. Kitchen, living room, bathrooms are well submitted, regarding the beds there is some room for improvement. We especially appreciated that from the house beautiful walks can be taken. Arezzo, Siena and other typical Tuscan small towns can be reached by car in a short time. The access road is a bit rough but doable. The rental went smoothly, all appliances, heating and the fireplace worked fine. We thank Valentin for the always prompt and pleasant contact by mail.
