Positive: The view from the hotel was great! We could see the whole city of Beppu and the sunrises were spectacular if captured from the 2nd floor
Negative: The food was not up to standard for such a hotel. The meals were unbalanced. There is too much starch (rice and noodles) and not enough vegetables and fruits. Breakfast on our second day was especially heavy on starch!

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay and found the breakfast and dinner were excellent both in quality and value for money. The staff were all very good, in particular Choo gets a special mention for his efficiency and friendliness. The view was great from our room and was very spacious.
Negative: This is not a fault of anyone but we could hear the guests above us walking around and opening and closing doors. There are signs asking guests to be quiet and it was just unfortunate that we were woken very early by them.
Summary: After travelling for 1 month, was a nice place to relax and enjoy Beppu from.

Positive: The view was breathtaking, the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. The experience of private open air bath with view was very unique
Negative: The localization was good, but if you're coming by foot, prepare for a short but steep hike. I would say that the in-room bath could benefit from small restoration,

Positive: It’s a small hotel with less than 20 rooms. It’s up on hill away from the hustle bustle of the city.
Negative: Language was a bit of a hit and miss. Even though we emailed about our meals that we wanted added, the message didn’t seem to pass down to the staff on duty when we checked in. But they got it sorted out and we had our meals as ordered.
Summary: A boutique resort for a relaxing onsen holiday with great Kaiseki dinners.
