Settler's Cottage is an independently managed and run cottage located within the Russell Cottages complex.
The cottage is a modern luxurious cottage, set in the grounds of a number of cottages and located in the beautiful Bay of Islands - only a 3 hour drive from Auckland - a home away from home. Located in the heart of Russell village – Settler's Cottage is only a short stroll from the waterfront, restaurants and cafes and 2 beaches.
The cottage has been built from traditional timber weatherboard. The interior features, solid timber floors in the living area, quality carpet to upstairs area, raked ceilings and is fully appointed to a very high standard.
On the ground floor there is an open plan lounge and dining area, both flow out onto a terrace that captures the morning sun, – a great place to have breakfast whilst enjoying the small private rear garden.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, smeg ceramic cooktop, smeg under bench oven, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, in-sink erator, the lounge features a Gas Log Fire place for the cooler evenings a 42 inch TV, ample seating for 6 guests – there is a also laundry with washing machine and dryer for guest use and a powder room with toilet and vanity.
The upstairs area has 3 bedrooms - the master bedroom has a queen bed is en-suited (walk-in shower, toilet and vanity) has a 29 inch TV, bedroom 2 has a queen bed, bedroom 3 has 2 single beds – the single beds can be made up to accommodate a super-king bed. The main bathroom has a shower over bath, toilet and vanity.
We offer complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk, SKY TV, DVD player, mini stereo system, parking for 2 cars and boat parking. "FREE Wireless Broadband" and quality linen and towels.
Settler's Cottage enjoys the full use of communal areas at the complex from the in-ground swimming pool, spa and BBQ facilities and children's playground. *The pool is only heated between Labour Weekend and the end of April.

Summary: Great central location good facilities only small negative things really were quite a few plates etc were chipped, no remote for Tv in master bedroom for the cost probably needs a freshen up paint work etc would be nice to have small things like dish soap available when you arrive too.

Summary: Lovely modern, spacious property. Very comfortable and well appointed, comfy beds with nice linen. Perfect location in the middle of Russell. The only thing I would change is to suggest the gardener/maintenance guy use a broom instead of a leaf blower!

Summary: Very nice property, but we consider it was overpriced... Note that the pool, jacuzzi spa and BBQ area are a short walk away, and shared with around 20 other properties, so not as intimate or convenient as you may expect.

Summary: Property/location were both lovely but both the meet/greet and departure were bizarre - especially the check out process which was more akin to a property inspection after a lengthy stay, uncomfortable.

Summary: One of the best places to stay in Russell! Pool and spa in complex, with use of BBQ etc. Short stroll to the waterfront. Plenty of parking. The cottage was in mint condition and super comfortable, highly recommended!

Summary: The cottage is perfectly placed within a delightful development a short stroll from the Strand and the centre of Russell. We love Russell, love the cottage and the surrounding environment, love the pool. Wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage itself has everything you could need for a home away from home.
