Our lovely four season log cabin home, furnished with quaint antique furniture, is situated on 12 acres on the shore of beautiful Gratiot Lake, Keweenaw County, facing East with a view of Mt. Bohemia (29 minutes away). Also nearby is Copper Harbor (34 minutes), Eagle Harbor/Lake Superior (27 minutes), Eagle River/Lake Superior (23 minutes), Calumet, Swedetown, and the Keweenaw National Historic Park (37 minutes), and Houghton (53 minutes). Arrive year-round by car or seaplane. NEMA 14-50 available for Electric Vehicle guests.
Our authentic 750 sq. ft. log home is built of scribed Upper Peninsula Michigan White Pine on 12 acre shoreline property, and has all the comforts of a cozy, fully furnished and heated home. Two bedrooms (1 double bed/ 1 single bed), pull out sofa, one bathroom (tub/shower), eat in kitchen, LG steam washer/dryer, wood-burning fireplace, cathedral ceiling and loft, and an open roofed log porch overlooking 1438 acre Gratiot Lake.
Enjoy a tranquil retreat, or the activity and attractions of any season. Fish off the shoreline, or launch your boat at the nearby public access and dock your boat in front of the Log Cabin during Spring, Summer and Fall. Walk out onto the ice and fish in Winter. Gratiot Lake Road is a county road plowed to the cabin driveway in Winter by the Keweenaw County Road Commission.
Gratiot Lake has been known for generations for its Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth bass, Yellow Perch, Muske, and Smelt.
Enjoy eco-tourism. Learn about responsible use, protecting and conserving Gratiot Lake and its unique history, land area and watershed. See gratiotlakeconservancy.org. A nearby trailhead leads up nearly 400 feet to the Gratiot Lake Overlook, a 100 acre Michigan Nature Association Sanctuary. See michigannature.org.
Come prepared with plenty of food and fuel because of the wilderness location. Kitchen staples are provided, including salt, pepper, sugar, a spice drawer, oil, flour, pots and pans, plates, silverware, glasses, tea cups, coffee mugs and place settings. Just bring your groceries. Please leave a note if you finish up a staple so we can restock. Occupancy limited to 5 registered guests only. No gatherings of unregistered guests. Quiet use only. No ATV/ORVs or snowmobiles allowed on the property.

Summary: This is a quaint cabin on a quiet lake on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The cabin had everything we needed. It was conveniently located between Copper Harbor and Calumet. It was wonderful to get up in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee while sitting along the lake shore. The owner is very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. I would stay there again.

Summary: The cabin was full of antiques and travel reminiscences. Centrally located in the Keweenaw, yet in a location of complete solitude. All the necessities were available in the cabin, along with a good night's sleep. Scott was a very helpful host.

Summary: My wife and I had a great vacation. The cabin was the perfect place to relax and get away from the daily grind. Gratiot lake was quiet with only a boat or two each day so it was great for our kayaks. Smallmouth fishing was very good with a couple of pike. Copper and Eagle Harbor were fun visits, with things to see and do and great food. Great place!

Summary: Was a perfect location to celebrate out 34 year wedding anniversary. The cabin was beautiful and quiet. Kayaked on the lake and grilled on the fire pit on the shore line. A very nice place to getaway and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Summary: Our stay at this cabin was amazing. Our weather could not have been more perfect and the location was top notch. We sat by the lake every morning and evening and had fires each night. I would definitely recommend this cabin to other adults but would caution anyone with smaller children….I would worry they might damage some of the beautiful antiques in the cabin.
