Negative: Enjoyed it all, though we did get lost as we went totally the wrong way...it was SOOOO much easier on our journey back!

Positive: We had a lovely stay at Vini Villa. The family was super friendly and the food (especially the curry) was amazing! We did a rainforest tour in the morning and saw a lot of snakes, birds, monkeys, lizards and spiders, many of them endemic to Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

Positive: From the minute we arrived in this tranquil paradise a wave of relaxation swept over me. We were welcomed to our bungalow situated by the flowing river in a setting so quiet you can hear every bird and cicada. We enjoyed delicious food and hospitality from Vini and his family. We had a wonderful tour with Vanilla, his son who is a gentle and thoughtful guide, taking us through the reserve at our pace. VIni arranged our transport at a good price and we would love to come back and visit again!

Negative: It was perfect! We were worried about mosquitoes but there weren’t any.

Positive: We had the best time here in Sinharaja Vini Villa! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Vini’s daughter and wife who brought out some complementary welcome drinks. Our room was spacious, clean and cozy. The shower was huge and had warm water and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were offered lunch and dinner and the food that was cooking by Vini’s family was delicious, the portions sizes were huge and the food was incredible. On our second day we did the rainforest tour with Vini’s son, he was very knowledgeable and picked out lots of animals and insects for us to see. I cannot fault our stay here, the family were unbelievably kind and welcoming and we had the best time here. The villa it self is right in the rainforest, it had a very peaceful and calm atmosphere about it. Vini and his family were constantly asking if we were comfortable and of course we were. Thank you so much!

Positive: The little cottage stayed in was basic but clean and comfortable. A/C and WiFi were strong. All I wanted to do while I was there was sit on the porch listening to the birds and watching the river flow past. But the best part of the stay is Vini and his family. They made us feel like friends, not guests. I feel like I’m carrying them in my hearts now. And OMG the food!!! Incredible.

Negative: There is nothing I didn’t like.

Positive: Wonderful location by the river, open and airy. 1 km walk to reserve entrance. Food is wonderful, if you ask, you can get exotic items such as fern shoots and Jak. Attentive hosts, the whole family is involved. Accommodation is simple, but adequate and clean. Linked to Deniyaya and Neluwa by narrow paved roads, which would make perfect bicycling day trips. Unfortunately, there are no bikes available for rent.

Positive: The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Very large comfortable bed and a veranda with chairs outside. The shower was hot and very large . The location was out of this world. On the edge of the rainforest overlooking the river with bee catch birds doing acrobatics all day long in front of the veranda.

Positive: This is my second time here and I will be back I'm sure, The location is perfect, on the river with views of lots of beautiful birds, it's so relaxing and peaceful with the sounds of just the water and the birds singing, Vini is a great host, and took us on morning bird walks and night forest walks to look for nocturnal wildlife. It's very much a family business. Vini's wife is an amazing cook, I loved the food there. The son is now a registered guide and took us on the forest walk and he was fantastic. He's a natural! The two daughters are super sweet and looked after me very well in the restaurant. I forgotten something in the room and Vini very kindly arranged for it to be returned to me with a driver. Everything was perfect, and it was very sad to leave after three days here.

Positive: One of our best stay in Sri Lanka! Room was roomy, clean, nice, with great AC and exceptional view. Location right by the forest is the best. Breakfast/lunch/dinner was exceptional. Delicious, reasonable price, and very very abundant (couldn't finish our plates, we got overfed :D). Fresh juices were also the best in Sri Lanka, with fresh fruits, with almost no water to dilute. Meaning it was very rich and tasty. I recommend to try all the fresh juices there! Including the weird woodapple. In all, although it is one of the most remote place we've been during our trip, it was also the best experience (5 stars!) we had. Host is helpful, smart, and will arrange jungle tours, water rafting and more... It's a place where to stay several days/nights to make the most out of it! We'll come back!
