Summary: Lovely hotel close to Blacksmith Visitor Centre.Very helpful staff.Had a really nice meal in restaurant.Breakfast very good also.Room was very comfortable.This hotel was hosting two weddings whilst we were there,which created a very nice atmosphere.Thank you for a great stay.

Summary: Great stop over. Family rooms well set up and comfortable. Breakfast staff were excellent and food was great. Only one small issue that carpet in room hadn’t been cleaned properly and found used tissues and fruit shoots bottles in and under the lower bunk but bathroom was spotless so probably just missed.

Summary: We recently stayed for an overnight at the Smiths Hotel to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, returning to Gretna Green where we were married 35 years ago. We were allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms at the front of the hotel, which was spotlessly clean and modern. The lounge and bar areas are freshly decorated with plenty of seating, including outdoor seating. We would highly recommend eating at the restaurant as the food was delicious. I enjoyed the Lamb and my husband had the steak, he said it was cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef and staff as despite a large football function and another larger table at the time we were dining it did not have an impact on the quality of food or the level of service provided by the staff. The staff are a credit to the hotel. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Blacksmiths shop and visitor centre. The village centre is a short walk away and there is also an outlet village with shops close by. Carlisle is only about a 15min drive away. We would not hesitate to recommend Smiths hotel if you are looking for a hotel in the area.

Summary: Checked in easily. Great customers service. Plenty of space in the room. The bed was so comfortable. Good WiFi connection. The continental breakfast was great with plenty to choose from. I would definitely stay again.

Summary: The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and resourceful. It's located close to the Museum and rail. Great food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner! Best of all, they had a fan in the room!
