Summary: We were only able to stay a night but would have liked to stay longer. The staff was very welcoming. The lodge was cool. All the history. The view from our motel room was great. The deck was nice to sit out at night. The rooms were very clean and comfortable..it had everything we needed.

Summary: Everything was exactly as described. Theresa who greeted us when we arrived was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Stayed in Motel #12, the room was cozy, had everything we needed, priced fairly. Loved the view of the lake. Appreciated the tv with a number of different channels. A few things made it look a little shabby/dirty and outdated (wall hanging, blinds on the front door), but otherwise, a good value for the money, and very cozy.

Summary: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The small kitchenette was well stocked. The motel rooms were small and we could hear people on both sides of our room. Beautiful view of Lake Superior.

Summary: My daughter just finished her semester at UMD and we were looking for a place to stay by Lutsen. We like hiking at Temperance state park and spending time in Grand Marais. The location was perfect.The rooms were perfect for us. They were equipped with everything you need, even a fan. We stayed in a motel rm with a kitchenette. The view was incredible and had a deck to sit on. We walked our dog down by the lake and sat on the rocks. Our room was super clean. The beds comfortable. We will definitely come back.

Summary: This is the second time we stayed. Our motel room was knotty pine and cute but the outdated bathroom was not. However, I could see they are remodeling the motel rooms and can’t wait to return. Beautiful and historic lodge with new sauna and shower room (which I wished I had used instead of the one in room.) the check in process was great.

Summary: This is a very nice place. My wife and our two kids are thinking of coming back here again the future. If there is only downside is everthing is pretty much far away (Grand Marais) such as nice grocery stores and reasonable restaurants. Other than that, this place is nice.
