Enjoy the woods and the water in Cabin 8! Fall asleep to the rustle of leaves and spend your day swimming, boating or fishing. This large 2-story retreats boast 550 of living space and can accommodate 6 guests. Electric and manual boat lifts available for rent.
Cabin 8 has a large master bedroom with a king bed on the second floor and a full bathroom with walk-in shower on the first floor. Additional bedroom on ground floor has two twin beds. Pull out couch in living room for extra guests.
Comfortable seating area with TV for relaxing indoors, or gather around your outdoor fire pit to toast marshmallows. Includes a covered porch with seating area, as well as a picnic tables and space for outdoor entertaining. Cabin 8 is located on the hillside over the lake, and it is an approximately 3 minute walk down the driveway and the staircase to access the water. Guests with 4-wheel and all-wheel drive can use the boat ramp to drop off guests or boating gear via our boat ramp. 1 reserved parking space. (More available by request and availability.)
Everyone staying at the property can enjoy our private beach, WiFi, and DirecTV. Stay cool on even the hottest days with air conditioning or cuddle up with our propane, electric heaters, or wood stoves. (Varies by site.)
We provide all of the linens and bath towels you need for your stay, as well as paper products to get you started. Our kitchenettes include microwaves, gas stove tops, refrigerators/freezers, coffee makers, pots, pans, dishes and silverware. Pack-n-plays and high chairs available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Need more space? Our nearly 4 acre property with 400 feet of frontage along Cayuga Lake and a private beach also has the Spotted Sandpiper Lake House, the Overlook Lodge, 8 cabins and 2 yurts. Ask us about our discounted rates for multiple rentals!
The Spotted Sandpiper is located in the woods with frontage on Cayuga Lake and bugs love the woods and water! They're savvy at finding their ways indoors (these are cabins after all). If the bugs are ever "bugging" you, we're always happy to help.

Summary: What a beautiful area and tranquil. Our stay was fantastic. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the view of the lake was great. The owners were extremely hospitable and attentive to our needs. This will definitely be the first of many stays at the spotted Sandpiper.

Summary: Our son graduated from Cornell and considered the limited hotel options in Ithaca, we decided to have a more local flavor by staying in a Cabin close to the lake and make it a little family vacation too. We love rustic cabin 8 and the camp. The host was so fast to respond to all our requests. We have few friends over for dinner one afternoon, we grilled and had a wonderful time. We also had the fire pit for marshmallows. We use the kayaks and had fun at the lake. It seems they are building more cabins. I think the kitchen can used a flat space where to prep and can easily be added, and despite the small size, will be more practical. The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed and more (cuisinart pots and pans, etc.). In addition, the place welcomes pets, so we enjoy having Malibu, my son’s pet, for couple of nights with us too! The drive from Ithaca to the camp was nice and easy drive and with some nice places and wineries on the way! The place was a perfect mix of rustic, tranquility/relax, confort, and fun! Definitely much better than any hotel option for those days in Ithaca! Thank you!

Summary: This rental location is one of many different rentals on the property making it fun to socialize with neighbors. Great location to wineries cidery’s creamery‘s and Ithaca. The owner was extremely responsive to any of my questions or any issues we were having, within minutes I had a response. I would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Would definitely stay here again. Cute little camp with different cabins, yurts and campers. We were a short walk from the lake. We used the paddle boards and kayaks and had a blast on the water. Pet friendly! Quiet location. Short drive to wineries.

Summary: Our family really enjoyed our stay in Cabin 8. The cabin itself had 4 beds, a small kitchen and bathroom with stand-up shower. It served our needs perfectly. The WiFi was very good. It's a short walk down to the beach on Cayuga Lake via a staircase where they had countless kayaks, paddle boards, rafts and life jackets. The beach was by far our family's favorite part. The views were amazing and the water was perfect. Check-In and Check-out was a breeze. We really hope to come back again! Thank you!

Summary: It was a very nice place. It had everything you needed, shower, fridge, beds, firepit, kayaks + other fun swimming items. The lake was absolutely stunning and so peaceful. We were a bit caught off guard that there were a lot of other cabins around, we thought it was more remote, but it didn't seem to bother us at all. Everyone was super nice and everyone kept to themselves. We all pretty much did the same thing, explored the lake and land, then had a fire at night. It was really really nice. The inside of the cabin was stunning. Very well built with beautiful wood everywhere. The loft bed was very comfortable. My son is over 6 feet and did not like the downstairs bed so much, but he is a giant and needs a lot of space lol. Overall, I would 100% come back to this place. It was a very nice time and well worth the money.
