4 Bedroom Cottage in Solva

Set in the beautiful Pembrokeshire National Park, just a minute or so from Pembrokeshire's famously stunning coastal path, Tirmynydd (formerly known as Thimble End cottage) is situated in the tranquil heart of old Upper Solva.
Built in the late 1700's, Tirmynydd has an abundance of period features. Exposed beams in the lounge/diner, deep set windows for sitting in with a good book and a homely welsh stone hearth to gather around after a day's walking on the coastal path or a day at the beach! The well-equipped kitchen with all mod cons offers everything you need to cook and dine with family and friends. A sunny, enclosed garden is ideal for barbeques, play and relaxation. You're welcome to bring your dogs (2 max, free for 1 dog and £25 for the second per week) and there's WiFi, as you'd expect.
There are numerous pretty paths to take you down to picturesque Solva harbour, where children play on the sand when the tide is out, while others walk their dogs. The views on the way are breathtaking, quite unspoiled and different from one day to the next. Sit and watch the fishermen come in with the daily catch, families crabbing from the quay or wander along the quayside to the quaint little shops and galleries. Perhaps you will stop for refreshment in one of the several pubs and bistros near the harbour, or the brilliant 'Café on the Quay' serving teas, coffees and the most delicious Welsh ice cream - well worth a visit! When it comes to dining, choose to leave the car and take advantage of the excellent places to eat within easy walking distance from Tirmynydd, serving fresh catch-of-the-day, or venture a little further afield to St Davids or Porthgain for everything from afternoon teas to fine cuisine.
Whether it's adrenaline-inducing watersports, boat trips to offshore islands, or coasteering you are after, or beaches, a little leisurely tourism, eating out or simply relaxing in the secluded garden under the pergola, Tirmynydd offers a comfortable, quiet base from which to explore beautiful Pembrokeshire, whatever the season.

Summary: This was a lovely cottage, very well equipped and spacious. It was very clean and everything that you could want for a family holiday. It had a pretty garden and plenty of room to park two cars. The instructions for the key were straightforward. We would definitely recommend it.

Summary: We stayed for two weeks and very much enjoyed our time. House is full of character and charm, clean and in walking distance of Solva village and coastal path. Comfortable beds, spacious and fulfilling every need. I thought it was also very reasonably priced. Great for a family.

Summary: After a long, tiring journey from Germany, we found a little paradise. We felt at home from the first moment. Georgia's cottage is lovingly designed, offered enough space for us and we especially enjoyed the beautiful garden. The facilities are perfect, there is everything you need to feel at home. Communication with Georgia was friendly and quick, and details about check-in were provided clearly and early. Thank you so much for letting us spend our holidays here. We hope we can come back again sometime.

Summary: Excellent property and location, very well equipped. Only disappointment was the garden was not secure enough to let our dog run free. Gaps in the roadside hedge and the gates too low. Real shame as we would look to return if not for this. However this did not spoil our stay.

Summary: Solva really nice and pubs , restaurants and shops etc all walkable from house . Stunning walks from the doorstep . The only negative thing I would say is the garden . Not what I would consider secure for a dog . My pup was fine but if he had wanted to could have easily escaped . Other than that great

Summary: My parents and I stayed here with our dogs and all had a wonderful time! The cottage is spacious and very well-equipped and the charming garden was a lovely place to relax. The house is well-situated in Upper Solva, and one can walk to the coastal path and gorgeous views within minutes, or down to the harbour and Lower Solva within about 10. We had everything we needed and felt the warmth of hospitality and welcome (dogs included) in the way things were laid out and house instructions shared. Didn't want to leave!
