We are Semi rural set on 8 acres, Totara Cottage was built in the 70s as a workers cottage for the then Totara Vineyard.
A self contained, stand alone one bedroom cottage, which has been recently renovated, retaining its charm in the process. The original 2 bay milking shed on the property dates back to 1945.

This 1 Bedroom Cottage provides accommodation with Security/Safety, Breakfast, Child Friendly, for your convenience. This Cottage features many amenities for guests who want to stay for a few days, a weekend or probably a longer vacation with family, friends or group. Summary: Great communication with the hosts. This little cottage is an absolute delight for a romantic weekend! It was quiet & private with more than enough provided to ensure a comfy cosy stay. Breakfast included a range of tea & coffee choices along with orange juice, muesli, cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt & croissants. Located close to a number of wedding venues & dining options, plus the spectacular Waitakere Ranges with its black sand beaches. We took the relaxing 20 minute drive out to Muriwai Beach to see the wave riders & a magical sunset. A definite favourite!

Summary: The property was wonderful! It was so charming and had plenty of natural light. We could see various birds and sheep outside each morning. The owners thoughtfully provided breakfast items. We would definitely recommend it!

Summary: Beautiful setting just outside of Auckland. The accommodations are comfortable, spacious with a very modern kitchen. Quiet surroundings in the country, closest neighbour is a flock of sheep the field next door! Easy drive to Auckland, but we took the train in - 12 minute drive to station and 40 minute train ride. Host was very helpful. Highly recommend!

Summary: We loved the surroundings with the sheep in the paddock and listening to the birds. The cottage is beautifully furnished and presented, more then we expected. The breakfasts included were great. We loved our stay at Totara Cottage and look forward to another visit.

Summary: It is a lovely place and hosts are accomodating and thoughtful. Just FYI there is no wifi which makes this the a great place to "unplug".

Summary: Cosy rural retreat, but town only 5 mins away if supplies are needed. Very peaceful, easy to find from directions. Lovely homely touches from from fresh flowers , to a welcome box of chocolates, the cottage has everything you need. Very highly recommended.

Summary: So many little extras that made my stay just perfect. I felt safe, and enjoyed watching the rabbits bouncing through the grass. It is definitely a rural retreat - no shops, beach, or buses. I loved it.
