Situated equal distance from Mount Maunganui, Rotorua and Whakatane - all are only half an hour away (by car). This spacious rural home is ideally located to suit a range of holiday-makers, families, travellers and sports people. Pukehina and Maketu beaches are 10 minutes away and Te Puke Golf course is 5 mins away. There are plenty of choices for mountain bikers at the world renowned Redwoods mountain bike trails in Rotorua and the TECT all terrain park in Tauranga. Rafting on the grade 5 Kaituna River is only 25 minutes away. The Old Forest School, a popular wedding venue, is less than 15 minutes drive from our Pongakawa Paradise. Beach lovers, fishermen, walkers and cyclists can all have the magical Bay of Plenty at their doorstep.
The large section allows plenty of space for family to spread out and relax or be energetic on the grass tennis court or in the pool. Our pool has a roller cover to keep the heat in at night and offers a welcome cool off on those hot summer days. Large decks adjoin the main living areas and provide many options for dining and relaxing. Three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (two toilets), a modern kitchen and separate living areas are all features that make a stay more enjoyable. The grounds include many large shade and fruit trees and rural views.
Pongakawa school, with two asphalt tennis courts, adventure playgrounds and a cricket wicket and nets, is two minutes walking distance away .

Special conditions:
With the pool opening out from the main living area we point out to all that this presents a concern so urge all adults to supervise their children swimming in the pool very closely.
Please give details when inquiring as to whether you are a family group or a group of friends and what the ages of your group are.
Please be aware the master bedroom with ensuite is not available. This will still leave you 3 bedrooms, one full bathroom with shower and bath and 2 smaller bathrooms with 2 toilets but no shower.

Summary: An idyllic rural setting in the peace and quiet of fruit farming country, yet only minutes away from local towns and beautiful beaches. This property was the perfect home-from-home for our family, with a gorgeous pool and well maintained tennis court, and plenty of space for our children and their friends, plus visiting family over the New Year holiday. We felt completely at home here and everyone had a wonderful, relaxing vacation, plus a few competitive tennis matches! We would not hesitate to recommend the property to respectful tenants who appreciate the beauty and heritage of this lovely home. The owners, Chris and Richard, were amazing, with superb communication from our booking to throughout our stay. They were so helpful and considerate, we felt we would become solid friends if we lived closer to them! We would love to stay here again one day. The Bay of Plenty is such a wonderful area, with so much to see and do. Only 45 mins scenic drive from Rotorua, we indulged our family with the Gondola and Luge and a beautiful lakeside picnic during our stay. The Mount, Tauranga, Papamoa beach, Whakatane and Ohope are all on the doorstep and we enjoyed visiting all of these lovely places. Highly recommended!

Summary: The property was just perfect for our needs with lots to keep our (almost 11) year old grandson occupied. A very comfortable pad for 5 adults and a child including enough bathrooms so there was no need to share - a very big bonus. Very peaceful location. I would not hesitate to return to Richard's Bach.
