Positive: 1. The homeowners are very gracious – they called us a few days prior to arrival date to see if we have any questions and called again when we got to the house to make sure everything was in order. 2. The house is spacious and fully stocked with everything to make your stay comfortable – sheets, towels, soap, shampoo, and all essential kitchen supplies, including pots, pans, utensils, oil, spices, etc. 3. Having 4 kayaks and a canoe was extremely convenient and helpful. 4. Beautiful living area, with large windows and a working fireplace.
Negative: 1. The lake is very small and the water by the dock is shallow and muddy, so you cannot jump into the water or swim by the dock. You actually need to take a boat out to the floating dock in the middle of the lake in order to swim. 2. Although it appears that the house is very remote and isolated, it was very surprising to discover that there is actually loud traffic noise that comes from the main street directly on the other side of the lake (even though the road is obstructed by trees). This was very disappointing as we were hoping for a week away from traffic noise and only hear the sound of nature (which was not the case). 3. Not sure if this is due to Covid or otherwise, however the price including all fees (agency fee plus cleaning fees, etc.) was extremely high.
