LANIKAI is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house only steps from the beach, with a private heated pool, screened-in porch and views of the ocean from the rooftop. Tandem kayak, umbrellas, beach chairs and towels available for use.
Check-in: 4:00 p.m.
Checkout: 10:00 a.m.
When booking the ferry, use Folio #495 to identify the house. Request assistance if you need help taking your luggage and groceries to the house.
NOTE: I can’t control constructions being done on the island and the hurricane debris removal schedule.

North Captiva is an island accessed by ferry only, with NO gas vehicles - Golf carts ONLY. A golf cart must be rented by the guest - please call Boats’n’Fun.
Several daily 20 - 25 minute rides on the North Captiva Island Club’s ferry make it easy to get from the mainland to the island. Once you arrive, you will feel you have left the hustle and bustle behind and escaped to a distant place with crystal clear turquoise water, beautiful white powder sand beaches, and some of the most amazing shelling and sunsets in the world.
The house is just a few steps from the widest, white sand beach on the island as well as the Preserve with miles and miles of untouched beaches.
There are currently 2 restaurants on the island if you don't feel like cooking: ‘Mangos’ and ‘Over the Water’. The latter, is open for lunch Thursday through Sunday. Call ahead to check their schedule.
Bicycles, paddleboards, additional kayaks and jet skis are available to rent on the island.
You may fish right off the beach or hire a fishing charter. Snook, redfish, whiting, tarpon, trout, snapper, grouper, and many other game fish are very popular in this area.
From the island you can charter a private day trip to surrounding islands for an adventure or lunch at one of their fine restaurants.
If you come to N. Captiva on your own boat, you can rent boat slips from the NCIC.
This is one place you do not want to miss, and Lanikai is awaiting your visit.
I guarantee you won't want to leave at the end of your stay, and you will be planning your next visit before you leave!

*** Please note that the pool pump will not work if the temperature dips below 50 degrees F. Shutting off automatically, prevents damage to the pool heating system that can occur when the air gets too cold.
*** Please bring BOTTLED WATER and BUG SPRAY. The water on the island is safe for cooking, washing and showering but has a taste. BRENNA has bottles and jugs of water for sale as well as bags of ice on the island if you run out.
*** Don’t pick any gophers up!
*** For safety reasons, no children are allowed unattended on rooftop or in the pool area.

Summary: This was my first time to N. Captive. My husband and I had a great time exploring the island in the golf cart. We loved everything about our stay. The house was just perfect and the pool was a must have for us. We absolutely loved the location. Everyone was right about the outside shower. We never even tried the inside shower at all because the outside shower was so great. Marie was so helpful with all my questions. My husband and I will definitely be back, still lots of exploring to do.

Summary: I stumbled upon North Captiva Island looking for a trip for my family. We have 2 young kids so the hustle of Sanibel or other busier beach towns would be lost to us because all the kids want to do is play on the beach and swim and then crash after dinner! NCI looked like the perfect quiet retreat for us to unplug and enjoy the sun and each other. Because of our work and school schedule, we needed a midweek rental and Lanikai just so happened to offer very flexible dates. Not only was this our first trip to NCI, but also my first time using VRBO. Marie was amazing at walking me thru the entire process. She’s responsive and sweet and accommodating and full of helpful travel tips. The home was so comfortable for us and had all the amenities we needed and then some. Great water pressure in all 3 showers, glorious and clean heated pool for pre and post beach swims, charcoal grill with charcoal included, tons of towels and floaties and beach toys… We took the sea kayak out once-that was quite the process. I think next time I’ll just rent one from the Boats store next to Mangos and go by myself rather than drag the Lanikai kayak all the way to and from the beach but still it’s nice to have and was a great workout! The golf cart was handy tho we did get stuck in the sand about once a day. Once we figured out how to avoid the sand pits, it was better. Maybe bigger tires would help I’m not sure! Either way, not enough of an issue to detract from our stay. It became slightly comical and good way to meet other vacationers as we banded together to push the cart out! We cooked almost every meal-the kitchen is well equipped and the knives are actually nice and sharp, not your typical rental castaway knife set. Check in was a breeze-Marie allowed us to come in early and check out was easy too. We only were asked to start the laundry and dishwasher. I’m used to being asked to do more with rentals so that was almost too easy! I would suggest more furniture on the roof deck with an umbrella so we can enjoy it more but with the winds that pick up that may not be a possibility. We looked at stars in the evening and I did sunrise yoga with coffee twice on the roof with a slight sea view. Overall, I couldn’t ask for more. We’ve already penciled in dates for next year. Thank you Marie for your home and hospitality!

Summary: Marie’s Lanikai was a wonderful place for our week away as a family. We loved being able to walk to the beach and enjoyed the outside shower daily! The pool was awesome on high wind days. Clean and comfortable with just enough room to spread out but still be connected. We also annoyed the kayak. Marie was excellent to communicate with along the way. Thank you!
