3 Bedroom Cabin in Burtrum

The lighthouse is located on 50 acres of wooded property on Rock Lake in central Minnesota (about 2 hours northwest of the twin cities). The 2,000 square foot lighthouse has seven levels, including the crows nest that is over 50 feet high, here guests can see over the canopy of the trees. It is a timber framed structure that includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
The property the lighthouse sits on is connected to 500 acres of state land, there is ample room for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and endless walks in the woods. The small lake (11 acres) is about 500 feet away from the lighthouse and there is private access to the lake for the guests to use as well as a campfire ring. We provide kayaks, a paddle boat, and a canoe. There is a swimming raft in the in the middle of the lake for the guests as well.

Summary: The lighthouse was absolutely spectacular, very clean, 3-bathrooms which I failed to recall when booking - major plus. The place was exactly how it was described, even better in person. The location was perfect - many little towns nearby to visit. One heads up, there are a lot of stairs (obviously) to consider if elders are attending (though there is a very lovely ground floor bedroom. We definitely are planning to visit again in the Fall.

Summary: Celebrated a couple 40th birthdays last weekend. The photos of lighthouse do not do it justice. The home is beautiful, craftsmanship and architecture to admire on every level. The hosts are available and easy to communicate with. Comfy clean beds, more bathrooms than we needed. Spacious kitchen and huge table to enjoy meals together. We enjoyed a fire by the lake, walking in the woods, playing games and putting together puzzles on all levels of the house. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Summary: We recently spent our Thanksgiving at Stoney Ridge Lighthouse. What an experience! Beautiful property, lake access, great views, CLEAN hot tub, hiking trails, wildlife and wonderful hosts! A few things that could improve the already wonderful experience: a wifi booster as it cut out the higher you go up in the lighthouse, no laundry access - a washer and dryer would of been great for any guests with small children, change out the shower liner in the main floor bathroom, and a disclaimer to bring strong legs because getting up to that top floor is no joke! Regardless, if you like silence and slow nights and doing your own thing (like us) and getting away from everyone, this is the place for you. We'll be back for warmer weather! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Lange!
