Negative: Room a bit musty. No patio as advertised but front porch. Missing a rocking chair.

Negative: Our room smelled musty, it was outdated but clean. Restaurant was open from Wednesday til Sunday, Mon and Tue only for breakfast. Breakfast was great but the service was getting worse day by day (in terms of the offer, time, and stuff attitude), the last day we waited for 50 mins to get the breakfast). It was very cold in the restaurant due to strong AC and even they had a beautiful area for sitting outside, it was not possible to be seated there. What I felt like a main shortcoming is that not a single microwave is available for the guests. Even if you have leftovers from the hotel’s own restaurant, it is not possible to heat it anywhere on the next day (which is not great if you have a hungry toddler and don’t want to serve them ice cold spaghetti). People at the front desk were not outright hostile, but kind of cold and unwelcoming. The bikes for rent were not available (they told us there are being fixed now - in the season), but then we discovered 3 decomposing bikes in the “Bikes” shed. Within three day no one came to clean our room (I think it was upon request, which is ok), but it would be nice, at least, to take out the trash and check towels or toilet paper.

Positive: The property started as an old Inn, which still serves as the main house however they have added multiple private cabins, which is where I stayed. My cabin was clean and comfortable and had a porch that faced the woods. The entire property is very well cared for and is obviously a popular wedding and event location as it has about five separate , gorgeous and rustic chalet like event spaces. I stayed mid week and it was quiet but I learned they always have events booked and are full on the weekends. The breakfast is included and is excellent. On the second night I had dinner at the restaurant inside the main Inn and it was delicious and included a beautiful salad bar and soup. The heated indoor pool and hot tub make the property extra special. Due to the pretty tiles lining it and the cedar plank walls and ceiling I'm guessing it was built in the 1920s however it has been beautifully restored and is well cared for. It's obvious that great care and a lot of hard work go into maintaining and improving the property ( which is on a small mountaintop with its own trail). It's also obvious that they try to make their guests as comfortable as possible. I really enjoyed my stay and would like to return with my family.

Positive: Stunning property!! Just right for a luxury stay in the poconos.
Negative: The bed was not very comfortable. We awoke with lots of body aches. There were no paper towels, no microwave, utensils or dish soap, yet there was a little kitchenette to accommodate such things. The staff was amazing!

Positive: I've been to Stroudsmore more times than I can remember. My family and I have gone there for every holiday buffet and it's always a grand display of everything you desire. The place itself is charming and reminds me of a quaint European village. Just beautiful. The grounds are kept spotless. I remember a time when a dress code was in place for the holiday dinners but times have changed.
Negative: This time I decided to stay for a few nights at a cottage for relaxation. It was just what I needed. The rooms are older and some need to be updated and a few repairs are needed, but clean and comfortable. I made new friends at the bar while ordering my lunch and at the free breakfast which by the way was delicious. The woman at the front desk we very pleasant and accommodating with my requests. I will be going back.
