Stunning privately owned Chateau in a hamlet, set in 4 acres & south facing. This is our family house, it is very private but not remote, looking out over open fields and vineyards. A super chateau if you are looking for a large house for 2 or 3 families to share or a holiday for an extended family with a large age range. It is in a quiet location with lots of space for children to kick footballs, hit tennis balls or ride bikes. But also plenty of private corners in which to read some of the hundreds of books or just sunbathe. Salon, dining room with open fire, well equipped kitchen, games room with table tennis and pool table, plus free wifi and TV. 4 acres of private grounds with swimming pool and children’s area. The swimming pool is in a separate fenced garden through a door next to the barn. 15 minutes drive to Cognac for the distilleries or St Jean D'Angely for the restaurants and farmers markets. Explore the Roman amphitheatre in nearby Saintes.

Summary: Our second stay at this fabulous property, set in the tranquil French countryside. The chateau is fully equipped for a home from home stay and the whole check-in and communication process is seamless. Highly recommended!

Summary: We had a great stay here, the property is huge and exactly as described. It’s a little way away from shops, so we had to plan in advance for meal times, but that was no problem. The games room was a great win for us, as was the outdoor space and pool. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. We had a fantastic week here.

Summary: Le Pignaud is a faded gem of a property. 30 minutes drive from anywhere, more than 70 minutes to the nearest beach. We had a wonderful stay Externally the property looks fab and the grounds are well maintained. Swimming pool was delightfully refreshing in the heat- cleaned regularly by Thierry. The host was pleasantly responsive when we emailed .

Summary: A beautiful French country property providing the perfect location for a relaxing getaway with friends. Great communication from the owner and very helpful local support when needed. We would definitely return and we highly recommend. Fantastic!

Summary: Great location for 3 generation holiday ages from 74 to 2. Weather had cooled down a bit which was just as well as the day we arrived was over 40 degrees. Children spent all day every day in the pool which was in a sheltered and safe position and it was great to eat in the garden every day. The only downside - only 3 toilets which was difficult with 15 of us but we managed. All in all a lovely quiet area lots to see and do, but the highlight was definitely the pool!

Summary: Lots of in and out door space; good facilities but could use a refresh to make it even more special. Great for rural retreat but a bit removed from action based activity holidays

Summary: The chateau was amazing, was characterful, not too fussy. Lots of space in and outside. Easy for a family to relax in and feel at home. The caretaker, Thierry, ensured that the pool was ready and clean every day. He was at hand for any other issues. The location was magical. Boulangerie nearby. The closest main town of St Jean d'Angely was beautiful. Easily accessible. Great eating out and loads to do.
