Summary: Owner's cleaning service is not very astute. They ask you to put dishes in dishwasher and turn it on when you leave but don't provide dishwasher detergent. So, coffee cups are horribly stained and dirty on arrival. We only used coffee pot and coffee cups during our stay as we ate out our entire stay. We had to wash our cups with a brush to get them usable. Two beds were made without top sheets so we had to find top sheets to go between the fitted sheets and comforter. They were available but the cleaning person obviously doesn't care about quality work. Child finger prints are on the massive windows from previous guests and either not seen or simply not cleaned off. Bath tubs did not have anti-slip mats so they were improvising with a rug, stayed wet because it's not designed for the purpose. Lawn and driveway need some maintenance as limbs from trees obstruct view and rub your rental car as you drive in the driveway. All in all, it was nice enough and we are happy but I do a pretty concise review so the owner can either be aware of the problems and fix or he can ignore them and loose future guests.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay. However, the place could use some TLC. The deck was really in need of cleaning and staining. The beds need to be replaced. Very uncomfortable and bedding very old. With some upgrades, it would be a great place to stay.

Summary: While the view of the lake is beautiful, first impressions left much to be desired. The deck was not staged and ready for renters to take advantage of it. There was only one chair and a dirty table shoved off to the side of the weathered deck. The kitchen and bathrooms felt clean, and the beds were comfortable, but the floors and area rugs had not been cleaned. There were piles of dead bugs or something in the corners of the dining area and the closet. We were met with chirping fire and carbon monoxide alarms. I contacted the owner and about four hours later, he messaged me that there “should be” replacement batteries in a kitchen drawer. He never checked back to see if the issue was taken care of. We did not find batteries, but we thought we had silenced them all, but were all awakened to chirping in the middle of the night and never got back to a restful sleep, as every few seconds there was another chirp. We were informed before arrival that there was no internet but that there was Dish satellite tv. We found four remotes on the coffee table, but no instructions. Upon inspection, we found the dish cable was disconnected. We plugged it back in, but still no tv. Not a huge problem as we planned to do a lot of sightseeing in the area. But also not what was expected. I would give our stay overall a score of 3 which is disappointing because I felt we were splurging for a much better experience. When I am charged an additional cleaning fee, I expect rugs and floors to be clean.

Summary: It was located on Lake Michigan, at a perfect spot along the beach. Easy drive to the town of Saint Ignace for anything my family needed during our 6 night stay. It was clean and well stocked. The master bedroom had the most comfortable bed. Like a gigantic pillow. Best sleep I have ever had while on vacation. The TV had its own ideas of not working (I think it was trees obscuring the satellite) but we watched a movie that was in the cabinet and played games we brought with us. Overall, a very nice time.

Summary: We had an easy check in process. Went well. It did seem clean and I felt super comfortable there. It was basically a private beach we had access to. We did not see another soul the whole time we were on the beach. Only negatives I would say is that there is no wifi which I understand that after I booked I read that it is spotty so they don’t have it but I had a report due so I had to take 1:30 to go to McDonald’s and finish it when it probably would have only taken 45 mins to finish. Also I will say it wasn’t an issue for me but my parents were with us and it did say that direct tv was included and we could not get the tv to work at all and there weren’t any instructions if there was a certain process so I assumed it was disconnected or broken. Again I wasn’t there to watch tv but my parents did not like that. Overall I would visit again if we decided to come back to the UP. We had so much fun and it was well worth the 8hour drive. Maybe we will stay for another night the next time. We definitely could have had another day of activities.

Summary: We enjoyed the privacy and the beautiful sandy beach. The house was in good shape and was decently equipped. A few small improvements and this rental would be absolutely perfect.

Summary: Property is beautiful with a wonderful view of Lake Michigan and access to a sandy beach. Spacious 2 car garage with one door having a remote door opener is handy. Lack of air conditioning and Wi-Fi not apparent on the listing. Several fans are available however. Overall cleanliness lacking somewhat (dirty pantry, dishes—maybe a dishwasher or water hardness issue, kitchen drawers/cabinets, and outdoor patio furniture and grill covered with dirt and debris). Window screens covered with webs and insects which made leaving the windows open a little unnerving. TV (we actually never turned it on) and DVD player available but you need to bring your own DVDs (bring any games you wanna play as well).
