Summary: The property was roomy and bed comfortable, and roof top patio was a bonus. Sumi was a great and informative host, we even got ride to station on our last day, we spent 5 nights and we could not have asked for a better choice.

Summary: Kyoto is filled with beautiful places to visit and interesting history. This apartment is centrally located in GION area. Very safe, quiet and easily walkable. The nightlife is nearby, but not too close. Shrines and gardens walking distance. A great supermarket 1/2 mile away. Sumi even drove us to the train station.

Summary: I am originally from Kyoto so I can definitely tell you that you can’t beat the location for the price! My husband and I needed a room with a washer since our stay in Japan was over 2 weeks. Sumi-san’s place was perfect! The room was well equipped and included a laundry washing machine. One of the greatest surprises was the bath unit, which had the dual purpose to be a clothes dryer. It would recirculate warm air up to several hours at a time by the timer. We used this feature several times during our stay. The view from the main window is very Kyoto-like and you can see Kiyomizu-temple straight ahead. The size of the room was definitely much larger than most of the hotels in Kyoto. Our reservation was not early enough to secure Sumi-San’s bigger available room but this place was cozy enough for two people who would be out most of the time. It could be a little hard to find the entrance for the first time, Sumi-san was nice enough to wait outside for our arrival. The in-person check-in was more personable, and it was easier to understand the whole features/rules of the unit. We took advantage of the location and walked to most of our destinations. *The nearest Family Mart (Convenience store) is less than 5 minutes walk. *3-4 minutes to Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo train station. *Up to 10 minues walk to the center of Gion district - Sumi-san’s place is located in the South West edge of Gion district. *30 minutes walk to Kyoto station along with Kamo-river *20-30 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-temple. We highly recommend this property and will definitely contact Sumi-San for her larger apartment the next time we’re in Kyoto. Happy guests, Kiyomi & Gregg

Summary: We enjoyed 4 nights in this well appointed apartment near the river and the Gion district. The owner, Suki, was very helpful with instructions on how to get to the apartment. She greeted us at the door and showed us the apartment, the roof top deck and the the shrines and temples close to the apartment. There were train lines a short walk from the apartment as well as buses. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was very comfortable, shower and laundry facilities were great. There are many restaurants, shops and a delicious bakery just up the street. We were very surprised and happy that Suki offered do drive us to the train station, which was a very generous and unexpected gift. We would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Kyoto.
