Positive: Not too far from the parliament hill, at the northern edge of ChinaTown . Walk about 15mins to the most attractive places. Kitchen appliances work well!

Negative: No I think you have do what you can . But if there is a washing machine or a dryer it will be perfect!

Positive: This apartment was our first stop on a summer road trip, and we stayed for two nights. Even though there were no reviews at the time of booking, the photos looked promising (it came out, however, that not all pictures could be clearly attributed to the apartment we booked) and the location seemed ideal – and in that regard, it mostly delivered. The location is definitely a highlight. It’s well-situated for exploring Ottawa, with good access to the city’s central areas. The host clearly put some effort into renovating and decorating the apartment to make it welcoming. While the place still has some (substantial) work to be done (see below), there are some nice touches and it has the essential amenities for a short stay. We also appreciated that the host arranged parking nearby – about a 7-minute walk from the apartment, next to the Chinese Christian Church on Somerset Street. At $15 per night, the price was fair for Ottawa. That said, there’s a large parking lot directly in front of the house, so having a spot there would have been even more convenient. Communication with the host was generally smooth, and the host was responsive when contacted. The apartment includes a terrace, which we didn’t use due to nearby construction.

Negative: The check-in process was more complicated than necessary due to the use of a third-party app called Boarding Pass. This app delayed us receiving the full address (4 Empress Ave) until just 30 minutes before the official check-in time. Since we had left Toronto hours earlier, it created some unnecessary stress around where exactly we were going. The apartment itself is located on the third floor of a small, older (yes, you can even smell it) town house without an elevator and with narrow stairs – something to keep in mind if travelling with luggage or small children. The space is extremely tight. Even for just the three of us (two adults and a child), it felt cramped. The bedrooms are small, one without a window, and the beds are on the small side. The living area, kitchen, and dining area are all combined into a single compact room. Another point to be aware of is the lack of signs of central air conditioning. Despite what was indicated in the Boarding Pass app (mentioning the centrally set temperature), there’s only a single window AC unit in the main room. It’s quite loud and doesn’t help much with cooling the bedrooms, especially in hot weather. Lastly, the cleanliness and overall finish of the apartment leave room for improvement. Some elements seemed rushed or simply undone, and a bit more attention to detail would go a long way in making the space more comfortable.

Positive: This apartment is perfect for a family of 2 - 4. It is too small for 5. The manager helped us work through issues with hot water and wifi. - Thanks. The indoor space is tiny and not a place we could really hang out as a family. Parking is NOT on site. It is a behind a convenience store about 8 min. walk.

Negative: Note: There is construction on all sides of the apartment. This is Ottawa in the summer but challenging for relaxing time on the deck.

Summary: Good location for the blues fest.
