This detached villa with beautiful pool is our home in the south of France. It located close to the border with Spain and close to the beautiful Cote Vermeille Mediterranean coastline.
Book it as your base, and come and explore this area around Maureillas and Ceret in the Languedoc-Roussillon, one of the lesser known regions of France. There is so much to see and do, or just relax with a glass of wine round the pool in the vineyards or at the beach...
The villa is centred on 1/2 an acre of gardens with a large swimming pool big enough to play in, and with a proper deep end (1.8m). Parking is available for several cars on the drive.
The layout is mostly open plan with the kitchen giving onto two separate dining areas, and two lounge areas. Most rooms, including three of the bedrooms, have double doors onto an outside terrace giving a light and airy feel to the place. There is also the outside 'room', with table and parasol seating 10, and Dancook coal barbecue for entertaining alfresco on those long summer days. The property is equally attractive in winter with TV/selection of DVDs, log burning fire, books, board games and jigsaws.
There are 2 double bedrooms and 3 twins, which makes the house ideal for 2 families wishing to holiday together or a group of couples or friends enjoying a house party together.The master double has a spacious en suite shower room featuring a large 'wet room' shower, wash hand basin and toilet. The second double and one of the twins share the family bathroom, featuring bath, separate shower, his 'n hers basins, bidet and wc. Up a timber spiral staircase you will find 2 twin bedrooms sharing a shower room with shower, basin and wc.
Access to the property is via an attractive external staircase to reach the upper terrace and front door. It is therefore not appropriate for anyone requiring disabled access. The property nestles in the foothills of the Pyrenees and is built into the side of the hill, so what is ground floor level at the rear of the property is first floor at the front. This can be seen upon careful examination of the photographs.

Summary: Lots of space both inside and out, very well equipped. It was well looked after, and the owner dealt with any issues straight away. Good location, and local Spar shop had a good range of stock including bread and croissants.

Summary: We had a fantastic holiday at this beautiful house. There were 9 of us ranging in age from 17 to 81. The house is huge and there was more than enough space for us all. It was very hot in the first week so we got a lot of use out of the pool. It is a lovely pool, deep enough to dive into and bigger than it looks on the picture. There is plenty of outdoor space, with an outdoor eating area at the back of the house and seating and a coffee table at the front. The Wi-Fi worked well which was a big plus for the younger members of the party! We ate at El Tap, the bar in the village a few times- lovely tapas and very friendly and helpful staff! We also went into Ceret and Collioure for evening meals. Collioure is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. We also visited Argeles, Banyuls-sur-Mer and went over the border to Roses. All were easy to get to. The village shops and bar are all in easy walking distance. The nearest large supermarket was in Ceret, about 10 min away in the car. All in all we had a fabulous time and would love to return

Summary: Second visit. Spacious, well equipped villa. Some air-conditioning plus ceiling fans meant it was comfortable even in the very hot weather. Large pool was also help in keeping cool and well lit outside terrace ideal for eating al fresco.

Summary: A really lovely villa in a delightful village just up the road from Ceret. It’s large, very well equipped and the ceiling fans (or air con) in all bedrooms were much appreciated in this year’s heat. The pool is stunning and better than the photograph. There are several beautiful spots around the house to sit in either sun or shade. We hope to be back soon!

Summary: We had a great week, two families with young children. Pool was amazing, big enough to properly play and swim in and warm enough too. Being walking distance to the local town made a big difference and meant we could pop down for croissants and bread every morning. Two twin rooms are up a quite creaky and narrow staircase so not really suitable for young kids although our 7 year olds were fine. Lovely and quiet, great stay all round.
