Sugar Tree Lodge is a secluded, custom 1500 sq ft timber and glass framed lodge built on 2 1/2 private acres with 600 sq ft. of outdoor decking. The lodge is located in Warrensville, NC, a 10 minute drive to downtown West Jefferson and a 20 to 40 minute drive from Boone, Blowing Rock, Appalachian State, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, several ski slopes and many more attractions.
The lodge sleeps up to 8 guests and is a short 5 minute walk to the New River where you can enjoy fishing, tubing and kayaking. There are walking trails on the property,
Sugar Tree Lodge is the perfect place to spend honeymoons, anniversaries and celebrate birthdays. The lodge is perfect for two looking for a secluded, romantic getaway or for extended families to get together and celebrate holidays. an outdoor fire pit, built in picnic tables, porch swings and rocking chairs. Enjoy the outdoors from the inside with the huge windows and french doors or sit on the porch and take in the scenic views.
The living room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed cedar beams and features a custom stone fireplace, gas logs, ceiling fan, 55 inch TV smart TV and high speed wifi. There is one sofa, two love seats and a custom made coffee table and end table. There are french doors leading to the front porch with that has built in seating for 8.
The dining room has a custom built pine table that seats 8 guests with large picture windows looking out to the scenic mountain views.
The kitchen has all full size black stainless steel appliances, a large pantry, an over sized farmhouse sink, and open shelving. There is a custom island, bar stools, cookware, Keurig coffee maker and service for 8 guests. We have an Alexa mounted over the fridge so you can ask the weather, listen to music get directions and search for local restaurants and activities.
Both bedrooms have a queen size bed with custom made headboards, 55 inch smart TV s, dressers, ceiling fans, sconce lighting, electric fireplaces and full size closets. Both bedrooms have a doorway leading to the back deck that has two wooden hanging porch swings.
The loft has 4 custom built queen beds, a 55 inch smart TV, ceiling fan, a mounted lantern and a door leading to the upper deck. The upper deck has 4 rocking chairs for relaxing and watching the beautiful sunsets.
Both bathrooms have tile flooring, tile showers and custom built matching vanities with farmhouse sinks and rustic mirrors. The loft bathroom has a single shower and the downstairs bathroom has a soaking tub/rain shower combo.
Attractions near the lodge include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Mount Jefferson State Park and the New River State Park. For guests interested in skiing, Sugar Mountain, Appalachian Mountain, Hawksnest and Beech Mountain are all within a 40 minute drive. West Jefferson is a lively, cultural town that s very art oriented with many public murals, antique shops, festivals, gallery crawls and concerts. Downtown has a variety of restaurants, bakeries, breweries, pubs and coffee shops to enjoy as well as the Ashe County Cheese Factory and Ashe County Farmers Market. For the adventurous guests, there are an abundance of outdoor activities including hiking, jogging, kayaking, horseback riding, zip lining and biking trails.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sugar Tree Lodge!! Karen was a great host and very responsive! She was even willing to come to the cabin to bring batteries for a remote control (which wasn't necessary with 4 TVs in the cabin)! Check in was smooth and seamless and everything was as listed. The instructions to get to the cabin were very thoughtful and helpful! The kitchen had everything you could need to cook with including a few spices to get you started. The bed was comfy and the rooms were cozy! We loved the custom made vanity in the master bedroom! The jacuzzi was perfect even in the lower than expected temperatures! We used the fire pit too and roasted marshmallows! The Wi-Fi was fast and I was able to work during the day and relax watching our favorite Netflix shows at night. The cabin is truly secluded so do not expect any visitors unless you invite them! The cabin is close enough to West Jefferson to go exploring during the day! We checked out the Old Barn Winery and the Ashe County Cheese Factory (both suggested by Karen) while we were there and loved both! We also visited a few restaurants but cooked at the cabin as well. And best of all our pup enjoyed the trip with us! We would definitely stay at the Sugar Tree Lodge again when visiting family in the West Jefferson/Crumpler area!!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin! The cabin was clean and secluded. The location gives a private, peaceful feel, but close enough to town for groceries and activities. The cabin was as advertised and communication with the host excellent. Can’t wait to come back for another visit!

Summary: Property was so cute and cozy! I loved all the beds, storage space and cottage vibes. The hot tub in the early morning was so peaceful. The road is a little rough due to gravel and some up hill but manageable. Also I believe this property is tucked away enough but still in a place where there are locals down the road. It’s very quiet and serene. The Main Street of West Jefferson is about a 20 min drive. I would love to return in the future!

Summary: Stayed here with a couple of friends for 2 days to go biking in the Lansing / West Jeff area. Th weather was great. Sugar tree lodge was a perfect location and the lodge was clean, beds were comfortable and had a great secluded mountain cabin vibe. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the bike. Karen was a great host and very responsive.
