No smoking.. This single-storey, detached holiday home was built in 2018 and has the most beautiful views across the Gloucestershire farmers’ fields and rolling countryside. It has a spacious open plan living/kitchen/dining area opening up to the veranda which spans the width of the property. Each bedroom has its own en-suite giving you a comfortable stay. This is the perfect getaway for small families, couples and friends wanting a quiet retreat in the beautiful surrounding countryside. For the cycling enthusiasts, there is space to store your bike in the utility room. Your four-legged family members are most welcome here and the property boasts extras including an outdoor tap, with both hot and cold water, to bathe your dog and you can dry them off in the large utility room with a doggy dryer, perfect for when they want to explore the great outdoors!
Set within the owners’ grounds down a private drive, it is perfect for a little peace and quiet. it is located between the pretty town of Newent and the cathedral city of Gloucester with its redeveloped historic docks and an abundance of cafés, bars, restaurants and outlet shopping in the Gloucester Quays Outlet. It is a great area for walking and cycling with footpaths right on the doorstep, the Wysis Way and Three Choirs Way are both within close proximity of the property and within easy reach are the Forest of Dean, the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills and the Wye Valley. Cheltenham, famous for its horse racing festival and great for shopping, is 15 miles away, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury are 14 miles away and Tewkesbury is 19 miles away. Summary: Excellent accommodation. Flowers, welcome basket and dog treats on arrival which was a great little touch. Such a peaceful location, lovely views, amazing Veranda and walks on the doorstep, which was everything we could have wanted. Paula and Wendell were such great hosts, we were sad to leave.

Summary: Fab accommodation in a very peaceful area yet only 10 mins to Gloucester. Walks right on the doorstep to wonderful countryside, great for dogs as the property has a wrap around patio with an enclosed garden & doggy shower outside. Owners really friendly & helpful. Would definitely use again.

Summary: Lovely welcome from the owners, Paula and Wendell, and a generous welcome pack, including a bottle of wine and treats for the dogs. The cottage is immaculate and the view from the veranda is over fields, where you can watch the sunrise in the morning and the wildlife retreat to their roosts at night. There are walks straight from the door and it is ideally placed for visiting the pretty Cotswold villages, the Forest of Dean and to walk along the Malvern Hills, taking in spectacular views of the countryside. A relaxing stay for us and the dogs - we will visit again!

Summary: The Old Kennels is a real treat . If you are looking for comfort and relaxation then this is the place to come .Very peaceful location to get away from a busy life . Paula and Wendell were very welcoming and were on hand with anything you needed. They also had a welcome pack on arrival with lovely goodies for your stay . Both were there to send us on our way safely and making sure we had a nice stay . Location was a joy for people and your furry friend . The woods were a dogs dream ,freedom to run and play. Would very much recommend this property ,everything was perfect.

Summary: Comfortable cottage 'away from it all' but with Gloucester a short drive away. Very dog friendly indeed and good walks from the house. Covered verandah a particularly attractive feature. Wifi currently rather patchy but rapidly being improved by the owner.
