Positive: Overall it was very good staying. Food menu, tub water, location, ambiance and staff was excellent. Beach access was also great too.

Negative: It would be perfect only if they could do futon service just like any other ryokan. Also the futon bed was too thin to sleep comfortably on the floor. My back is aching next day to wake up. Also if they could keep the tub clener in communal area, that would be great too.

Summary: I had a great time in there.

Positive: If you love old style traditional ryokans, this place is for you. I stayed for 3 night and every night I had different menu for breakfast and dinner. Private onsens are often free and they are nice. Very good location near Beppu tower and Kitahama station, 10 minutes walk to Beppu station and 3 minutes near big nice department store. Clean and renovated. The view to the bay is stunning.

Negative: It’s cherry picking but I didn’t like public onsen- it’s inside and not nice, small and always full. Employees. very helpful but also often slow and everything takes time. Maybe three nights was just a little bit too long. I o

Positive: Lovely stay near the train station, and good bus connections to the tourist area. The room had a private onsen and was wonderful - large and comfortable. The outdoor onsen had a sea view was available for booking, so we went after dinner and in the morning before check-out! Both the kaiseki dinner and traditional breakfast were in private rooms and so delicious and intricate. The staff were so helpful with the meal and all aspects of our stay.

Negative: The person who greeted us before check-in opened wasn’t very welcoming or helpful, but every other person was lovely and welcoming.

Summary: Private outdoor onsens and amazing traditional food!

Positive: The room was spacious and a great mix of western and japanese style. Our private onsen had a direct view of the waterfront which was beautiful. The staff were all helpful and kind, and the breakfast/diners were delicious (and very generous).

Negative: Neither I, nor my friend, have anything bad to say about our stay!
