1 Bedroom Cottage in Hinton

The Aylesbury Cottage is set within the grounds of our wonderful home Hinton Grange. Just 15 minutes drive from the cities of Bath and Bristol. Plus only yards away from an award winning pub!
Hinton Grange has been an established place to stay for over 50 years. We purchased it for our family home 6 years ago and have been running a professional holiday cottage business here since.
We fell in love with the romance of the place and we are sure you will too.
The space is completely yours and you will have complete privacy, however we live on site in the main house, so if you need anything please just ask, we are very sociable but will leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace unless you want us!
Dedicated Wifi now available throughout the cottage.
The Aylesbury Cottage is a stone built one bed with 4 poster bed, en-suite shower room and open plan living room with an open fire. Although it overlooks the main house, many guests sit out on it patio to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink as it also has great views of the main garden as it is still surprisingly private. We are a small family and only ever have cottage guests visiting so passing traffic pedestrian or car is minimal.
Washing machines are available free of charge in the communal laundry room which you will have 24 hour access with your own key and there is also dvd's you can borrow.
You are welcome to wander the majority of the 6 acres of the gardens, the only private area is directly in front of the main house, it is not really about keeping you out but more to do with keeping our animals and the mess associated with them in. We have a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog called Star but we have now enclosed in our private garden so you will not meet her unless she is with us, a goose (great guard goose, one of the reasons to limit access to our area), 9 Indian runner ducks and countless wild ducks, Moorhens, Deer, Fox (we have reached an understanding with regards to our ducks, I think), Badger, Owls, Bats and a Kingfisher (to name the cute animals in our garden). None of the domesticated animals will visit the area around your accommodation but if you wish to go into the wider gardens please just say if you would rather not meet Star let us know and we will make sure you can roam free, we are not precious about her, she can go out in the garden any other time.
We also have a separate games wing to include a full size snooker room, table tennis, trampoline and climbing frame which we happily share with our guests and is always open to you.
We live on site as a family and run a full time self catering cottage company so any issues we are on hand to advise and can also help you with advice on walks in the area and places to visit.
We live only a couple of hundred meters from an award winning gastro pub. It is a major advantage to be able to walk to dinner and no one needs to be designated driver!
We are also virtually next door to Dyrham Park, it is a short 1.5 mile countryside walk away or a 2 minute drive to the main entrance.

Summary: Beautiful quirky accommodation with the highest bed I've ever slept in, made use of the steps provided! So comfy I wanted to take it home. Lovely touch of the gifts (bread, milk, coffee, jam, butter & wine) Angela was friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful gardens to explore with our dog, just avoid the geese 😅 local area nice & lovely pub 5 mins walk away but you need to book if you want food as it's always busy. Just book, you won't be disappointed!

Summary: Our holiday was a total wash out due to the appalling weather. Hinton Grange and the only reason we didn't go home earlier. Angela and family (including their dogs) made us very welcome and feel nothing was too much trouble. It was very clean and well equipped with a good welcome food package waiting for us. Set in beautiful grounds that you and your dogs can wander freely, just keep clear of the goose!! A great local pub in easy walking distance and lots of public footpath walks in easy reach aswell. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Summary: We have just stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 dogs and it was a delight. On arrival we found an information booklet and the kitchen had been stocked with bread, butter, jam, milk, chocolate and wine! The place was spotless. The 4 poster bed is extremely comfy and there is ample storage space. The laundry room on site has a freezer if you need one and there is a fridge in the cottage kitchen plus plenty of pots and pans If you want to cook on the hob or in the oven. The owners are great and check you have everything you need and our dogs loved playing with their great swiss mountain dog Star, exploringthe ground and meeting Guinea Pigs. We didn't have a long list of dos and don't for the dogs which was great. Ours slept in the lounge area. The local pub is very dog friendly and the food is good. Will happily stay here another time

Summary: First of all wish we'd booked for longer than our 3 nights - could easily have stayed a week. On arrival there was a really friendly welcome from Angela who clearly has an eye for detail - there was a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, bread, milk, butter and a selection of teas/coffee waiting. The cottage itself was immaculate - there is an open fire and wifi. The surroundings are lovely and relaxing and the nearby pub serves excellent food. We stayed here as we we're visiting relatives in nearby Bristol but we will definitely be back for a longer stay - and in the winter so we can make use of the open fire (cottages closed out of season but studios open). Both myself and my wife highly recommend staying here.
