The Chaff House is a four-star holiday apartment, suitable for up to four guests. The property is configured on ground floor only. We have sympathetically restored what was a former 19th Century oast house.
The property provides a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with family bathroom. There is a kitchen that is fully equipped with everything you'd need, a breakfast bar, and a lounge area with dining table.
- Barn conversion with shared garden.
- The property is on our family farm - we have 135 acres. You are welcome to immerse yourselves in our farm and we have a 3km walk through the fields. You will see cows, sheep, horses and chickens. We live on site and can answer any questions you have about farming life!
- The Chaff House sleeps 4 (one double room and one twin room).
- Family bathroom with shower and toilet.
- Parking outside of the property. Please let us know if you have more than 2 cars.
- Lawned garden. Rear patio area with table, chairs and BBQ. The area is secure if you are bringing a dog.
- Dogs welcome - we charge £25 per dog per stay. Payable upon arrival or we can add this payment via Airbnb.
- Communal EV charger available (please bring your own cable). Supplementary fee.
- All bed linen and towels provided.
- Central heating.
- Fibre broadband / Wi-Fi is provided. The internet speed is suitable if you need to work from the property.
- Smart TV in the living room (Netflix compatible). Selection of DVDs & games.
- Hairdryer
- Nespresso coffee machine (takes original Nespresso pods).
- Fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board. Shared freezer and laundry facilities at the rear of the property.
- Crockery and cutlery.
- Kitchen utensils and saucepans provided.
- Gas BBQ with gas supplied.
- Kitchen basics provided - salt/pepper, teabags, sugar, fresh milk.
- Cleaning products provided - washing up liquid, bin bags, dishwasher tablets, dishcloths.
- Bathroom products provided: toilet paper and hand soap
- Cot, highchair and stair gate available.
The property is on a 135-acre working farm. You are welcome to walk around the grounds and enjoy the surrounding countryside (please ask Sally on arrival for best walking routes). We have cows, sheep and horses on the farm, very popular with children!
Dogs are welcome. There is a charge of £25 per dog per stay.

Summary: Chaff barn apartment is very well fitted out, decorated and maintained. Cannot find fault at all with the apartment itself. The only minor gripe, which was not a problem and I was expecting was the fact that the people upstairs can be heard walking about, but this was not an issue. I would recommend chaff House, which is perfect for a family of four or two couples.

Summary: Very warm and cosy cottage with everything we needed. Quiet location and dog-friendly. Lovely welcome from owner Sally who was always on hand if there were any problems and with useful advice about the area. If we return to the area will definitely stay here.

Summary: The Chaff house at Mintridge was delightful. A good location to explore Herefordshire and Shropshire. It was well equipped and the host was very welcoming and helpful. Staying on a working farm was a pleasant change and the peace and quiet of the countryside was very much appreciated. Hopefully we can visit agin one day.

Summary: Great location in the countryside and very quiet (Apart from our dog at times :-) ) but only 5 minutes drive from Bromyard for any shopping need. Close to Bromyard Downs where there are good places to walk, property manager very friendly.

Summary: We all had a lovely stay at The Chaff House. It was well equipped, very clean and plenty of outside space to relax. The garden was fully secure for our dog so no need to worry about him exploring the farm alone. We particularly enjoyed dining outside each day at the large table with comfortable chairs with seat cushions. Sally is a great host and is very happy to share farm life with you. I really enjoyed staying on the farm, it was so nice to see the new foals and other animals. Hope to return in the future.
