Positive: The Empire Hotel was clean and owners were very friendly and helpful. We were worried the window AC would not cool the room enough but it worked very well. The mattress was very comfortable. We were happy the place had a bar downstairs where we could have a drink when we returned from our activities in Cooperstown.
Negative: Must use own accounts to watch anything on the TV. Fortunately, we were so tired we fell asleep quickly. Furnishings and rooms were dark. Owner explained it is a historic house, built in 1835, and this limited updates he could do to the property.
Summary: Nice place to stay.
