This studio apartment in the heart of Northport is within walking distance to everything you'll need. Two bar/restaurants and a boutique bowling alley are across the street and within one block you'll find a public beach on Northport Bay, the public marina, a grocery store, an additional restaurant, quaint shops, the post office, a bank, and a craft beer brew pub. This is the perfect place to experience life in a small town!
Additionally, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, boats, bicycles and other summer fun items are available from a rental business located next door. Enjoy your water sports in the bay (a half a block away) and bike around town or down many of the scenic roads in the area. (Which is pretty much all of them!)
On the Northwest corner of the village is the Northport Creek Golf Course, winner of the Golf Digest 2015 Green Star Award. It is a public, 35 par course designed by Jerry Matthews.
The Willowbrook Mill wedding venue is just two blocks away.
The apartment is tucked away down a hill and behind a garage at the back of the property and can't be viewed from the street. East facing windows provide beautiful sunrises with partial views of Northport Bay.
Please keep in mind that being in the center of town may occasionally mean hearing some of the hustle and bustle that comes with village life. (Although we have very considerate neighbors!) For example, on Friday evenings throughout the summer, the "Music in the Park" performances, which play genres such as jazz and folk music among others, can be heard from on the property. Performances end at 9:00pm.
Sit out in the yard and enjoy the music, or grab the totable lawn chairs provided and head down to the gazebo at the park to enjoy the music with the rest of the community.
The area around Northport is known for scenic vistas of Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Michigan, orchards, vineyards and natural areas.

Summary: We came for a wedding at Verterra and this was super convenient. Everything was in walking distance. Host was very nice and we had everything we needed for a great stay.

Summary: Karen's place is absolutely spotless and very comfortable for 2 people. She includes lots of great touches like snacks upon arrival and also some beach towels and chairs to use during your stay. We have stayed there twice so far and are very comfortable. I'd highly recommend!

Summary: Karen was responsive and accomodating. Cottage in the heart of downtown Northport. Perfect location to walk to everything. Not fancy, but immaculate, quiet, and with nice accoutrements. Bed very comfortable with cotton sheets— not microfiber (yuck). We will return

Summary: This is our second time staying here. Spotless, excellent location, very short walk to the beach, good food nearby and reasonable drive to other attractive locations to spend a day. Probably not our last time here. Love it.

Summary: Our host was really wonderful! She was very communicative both before and during our stay. She gave us some great recommendations for local hiking and the best places to watch sunsets, sunrises and to view the stars.

Summary: The rental was spotless, private, and within immediate walking distance of absolutely everything in Northport, including a grocery store, cafes, and restaurants. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts of water, snacks, etc. The host did a great job providing everything you might need without any unnecessary clutter. What a gem!

Summary: Very nice and comfortable place to stay. The extra touches (snacks, soaps, shampoo, etc.) were appreciated. Also appreciated possible early check-in and delayed check-out time. Missed having a TV especially in the morning. It's a bit of a walk from the street to the apartment but not unexpected, and path was well-lit. Owner was very helpful and offered information on activities and businesses in town and the area. I would happily stay here again.

Summary: Karen was a great host! We enjoyed being able to walk to all of the local stores, coffee shop, and restaurants. The Traverse City Lighthouse and Fishtown are only 15 minutes away. Lots of great hiking trails with 15 minutes as well. The VRBO is a large studio unit. As advertised, there is no TV or stove. We would definitely recommend if these are not necessities for you!

Summary: Perfect spot for those that don’t enjoy large crowds! Quiet and cute little neighborhood and still plenty to do on a cold windy rainy weekend. Lots of wine tasting! Only thing we would have enjoyed more was a TV to watch the U of M game! The pub closes at 9 in the fall! Other than that it was perfect. Clean and Karen was very attentive! We would love to come back some day!
