The Rex House is a 3 BR 3.5 BA that was renovated while retaining it's original charm and many of its original design features. Each bedroom features a queen-sized bed and an en suite bathroom. The master bedroom includes a sectional that expands to a full size bed. The home features a contemporary Chefs kitchen and Expansive Master Suite with a seating/sleeping area and Juliet balcony. The dining area is open to the kitchen and seats 8 with an additional seating for 3 at the peninsula.
It is located just 7 min from LSU and walking distance to Downtown Baton Rouge's Dining, Entertainment and Nightlife this home has come back to life and welcomes new stories, memories, and laughter for you and your family.
The Rex House (circa 1850) was recently updated in 2018. Under the direction of, and with collaboration by, the US Department of the Interior and the Louisiana Department of Historic Preservation, the Rex House was designated as a contributing property of the Historic Beauregard Town District. Originally built as a 4 room one story home without a kitchen or bathrooms, the original home was expanded around 1910 to include a kitchen with Victorian accents.
Today the original 3 down stairs rooms and original wood floors are preserved for your enjoyment as well as the hand crafted stair case and two upstairs rooms including the graciously large master suite.

Summary: Rex House had everything we needed. Location is excellent. House was clean and comfortable. Six adults, three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Elyse was an excellent host. Will stay again on our next trip to Baton Rouge.

Summary: We stayed at The Rex House for a wedding. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom so it was great for getting ready in private. The kitchen is a great gathering place and is fully equipped for all needs. Highly suggest this historic but perfectly renovated property!

Summary: Stayed here for USBC Nationals. Very spacious, yet cozy, old timey house. Walking distance to the bowling center (drive there - parking out front on street of center is free if you’re lucky enough to get a spot, get locker, leave balls).Slept 7 comfortably. 3 couples & a tag along.Quiet neighborhood.It’s an old house, so when the A/C runs, it’s cold, when it’s not running, it feels warm. Not a complaint at all.Plenty of bathrooms. Fantastic showers.Would stay again in a heartbeat.
