Welcome to the Maine Deck! Our beautiful dream home is brand new with construction completed in February of 2022. On the first floor our home features four spacious bedrooms - 2 kings with en suite baths, and a bunk room that sleeps six with a hall bath. A fourth bed (queen) and bath is located on the second floor. This house comfortably sleeps 12.
From the second floor enjoy views of the gulf while cooking in our gourmet Kitchen. You can dine in at our oversized kitchen counter or in the full size dining room. If fresh air is what you desire you can enjoy the full length screened porch for dining or just relaxing and watching the sunset. The kitchen has a Reverse Osmosis water system so no need to bring cases of bottled water - it’s crystal clear!
But for the real views check out the bonus room on the third floor, complete with two decks facing east and west. Enjoy the sunrise with your coffee in the morning, and the sunset with your cocktail in the evening. Quite possibly the best set up on the island. And, over 800 feet of deck space makes the house feel bigger than its 3000 sf of air-conditioned living.
But the real fun is on the ground level! A brand-new bar area under the house that seats 8 with a flat screen TV, refrigerator and sink - all steps from the oversized heated pool. Also, a large outdoor shower and a bathroom - so no running up and down the steps! Enjoy games of ping pong, ladder golf, corn hole or just sitting back and reading a book from our little home library.
When you venture out to explore the island, you have access to 2 golf carts that come with the Maine Deck . In addition, our home offers private access to a beach along with a fat-tired wagon to transport supplies. You can go to the pool at the Island Club of North Captiva, use the kayaks and paddle boards, or walk the nature preserve and see manatees, bald eagles and osprey, or your friendly neighborhood Gopher Tortoise. You’re in the land that time forgot.
A remote location, North Captiva Island is accessible only by ferry or private boat. This private island community is reminiscent of old Florida as it once was during a simpler time. Just 3 miles off shore, this tropical paradise is part of the Lee Island Coast barrier island chain in South West Florida. This exclusive 3-mile long ½-mile wide private barrier island has no roads or cars. Picture old Florida living on a paradise island with no cars, crowds, high rises, or streetlights. You are met at North Captiva docks by our property management crew, which will provide white glove service by handling and transporting all your bags while you are taken on a brief tour of the island and get checked in. Summary: This house was perfect for our needs! Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Incredible views! The kitchen is filled with any plate, platter, or, utensil you could possibly need. We loved having our own pool, however it was more like a bath with the high temps we had. The only things that we would add would be hooks for towels in the bathrooms and a railing for the pool stairs. We will definitely look at this property for future North Captiva trips.

Summary: My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Mainedeck. The house was beautiful and very well designed. We will definitely be rebooking for next year. The only downside was the cooler weather during our stay. The island has done a impressive job of bouncing back from the hurricane Ian. We loved our stay thanks.

Summary: Selfishly, I want to give this place 1 star, so it’s available the next time we want to visit. It’s a gem! The home, location and island are perfect. The house was exactly as pictured (very clean and in great condition). Decor, design, layout, and pool area were thoroughly thought through. We appreciated the “extras” to help our stay run smoother and cleaner. The outdoor shower, bathroom, foot washing stations, outdoor bar, fridge, golf carts, pool/sand toys, chairs and extra outdoor games were very helpful. The views watching the sunrise and sunset were breathtaking. This place truly felt like home for the week! Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven with us! We’ll be back.

Summary: One of the best properties available on North Captiva. Well appointed house with rooms to gather and all also plenty of spaces to retreat. Everything is brand new. The kitchen is well equipped. My only request for the future is real glass drinkware. At this price point drinking out of plastic (except for the pool area) was a bit of a downer. Will definitely stay here again

Summary: Our family enjoyed a beautiful week at Maine Deck! The arrival process was seamless and the location of the home was perfect. The pool area is so well done and spacious, (pack extra bug spray if you intended to enjoy during the evening)! The bunks beds are the most comfortable in the house, the masters and queen beds are rock hard. However, that made it very easy to get up and get the day started! It is a perfect hideaway from reality. If this will be your first time visiting North Captiva Island, highly recommend making dinner reservations for Over the Water and The Boathouse several weeks prior to arriving. We planned on eating at both and unfortunately that limited our dining experiences. We would definitely book again and pack much, much lighter! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Maine Deck. The house is brand new and beautifully decorated. It is fully stocked with all the essentials. The property manager is super helpful and is quick to reply to any questions. The house is a short golf-cart drive to the beach (or a 5 minute walk). Highly recommend it!!

Summary: This was a common refrain from the 5 children (and maybe the 4 adults too) throughout the course of the week. What a beautiful home and congratulations to the owners of such an amazing, well thought out space. You can always tell the difference between a rental house and a home that a family rents out. You can see and appreciate the thought put into each space. The kitchen was large and open to accommodate multiple cooks and kids in and out without any collisions. It’s set up perfectly for entertaining and is open to the living room and outdoor screened deck. We loved the pool and deck/bar/game area. We spent so much time outside after the beach or being on the boat. The house has anything you might need, every kitchen gadget, pot and pan and is well stocked with everything- Plenty of towels, toys, chairs etc. We all had such an amazing week and it truly felt like a home away from home. It’s beautiful without being precious and very comfortable for seating and beds. The Maine Deck is a home you wish you could keep a secret but it also deserves to be shared with others. We are so grateful to have had the chance to stay in this new home. Ally and Sean at Shally’s Seashells were amazing to work with, very communicative and quick to respond. They were there to meet us, helped with groceries and luggage for 9 and were there to help us get ready to head home. Thank you all for helping to make our time on the island so special. We hope to see you again next year!

Summary: This home was absolutely beautiful! Not only was is it located in a great location, providing a feeling of privacy surrounded by beautiful plants and trees, but it was an extremely short distance to the beach. All of the rooms were large, spotless, and the appliances were top notch. The outdoor entertainment area left nothing to be desired. It has a gorgeous, clean pool with comfortable lounge chairs, a large bar area with a refrigerator, sink and plenty of storage space, and it hosted several games such as a ping pong table and corn hole boards. Not only did the home itself exceed our expectations, but it was all of the little detils that were so impressive. The owners thought of everything...footwashing stations, hoses on each porch, fans and televisions above the outdoor bar, any kitchen gadget you could need, screened in porches, a basket full of beach towels next to the door, beach chairs, pool floats, beach umbrellas and even a welcome basket. I would highly, highly recommend the Maine Deck to anyone. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to revist North Captiva, and when we do, there is no doubt where we will stay!
