Christchurch is renowned across the country for its stunning mountain bike trails. The cottage is located near the more extreme tracks on the Port Hills and in Victoria Park. Summary: We had high hopes for this historic facility and enjoy antiques and unique properties. This location and facility have many things going for it: great water pressure in the shower, fun shabby sheek property, and a nice sitting area. But various things are lacking which made it one of our least enjoyable stays of our month in NZ. These little changes could make a big difference: needs less scratchy towels, more than just two sets of dishes, fresh soap in the bathroom vs half used old bar soap, tidied back garden, microwave, and the special extras little coffee in the coffee jar and more than a spoonful of sugar in the sugar jar. We specifically seek out Premier Host locations and though the host may be a lovely person, the aspects of being a premier host facility were lacking. I am sure this place will improve, as the host has put in new carpet and fresh paint. A few more practical changes will make this place great!

Summary: Very clean and comfortable and close to supermarket and coffee shops and takeaways. Walking distance from town. Sometimes a little noise from commercial unit next door but not unacceptable

Summary: The property was just as expected and perfect for us on our 18 day holiday in Christchurch. The weather was terrible, but the cottage was warm and comfortable. There was plenty of room for our things and we were able to entertain friends and family. Even though the surrounding area isn't inspiring, we were amazed how quiet it was, and the closeness of public transport was good. The downside could be parking, but we never had to park more than 50mtrs away. Ellen was really helpful and brought us clean linen and towels half way through. Lovely quirky cottage.
