Positive: Very well appointed with surpringly large rooms for an old property. Very close to town centre but quiet. Bathroom and kitchen very well supplied. Effective heating and hot water.
Negative: Although parking was honestly described there was some difficulty in finding a nearby space even within the residents parking permit area which could mean a bit of a walk.
Summary: Excellent as long as you do not need to park very close by

Positive: We had a great stay at this location. We were on a one-way street, and when we unloaded our luggage, we had to work fast since cars were in a rush to get through it. Our car had to have a parking permit from the inside of the house to be placed into the window as well since it was parking that was on the street a block or so away. We had to walk this each time we needed to drive somewhere. We got used to it, though. The little apartment was adorable, I must say. We had to adapt to UK versus USA with electric adapters for our phones, a washing machine that takes three hours to use (no joking) and no dryer (line drying only). The water tasted great! I used tap water all the time. We never did learn how to use the thermostat. Halfway through our stay, on Sunday, we were staying in this day and were targeted by a group of teenagers, unfortunately. They were terrorizing the whole street, but when they realized we were Americans, they just kept at it. My daughter videoed them while my other daughter was on the phone with the police. It got scary there for several hours. Monday afternoon, once school was out, they started up again. The police did nothing. I attempted to contact the managers of the site, but there was no answer. I sent multiple emails with no answer. I was finally able to email the owner and let her know what had occurred. She was very supportive and concerned over this occurrence. The neighbors there have the video, and she will contact them for it. The pounding kicks on the door messed up the deadbolt on the door. Other than this happening, we loved the place. It was a wonderful place to stay overall.

Positive: A Homely Period Cottage with an "Old-Worldy-Feel", great for people who want to experience that "Olde English Feel". Both bedroom's are a good size and a nice size kitchen. The rear garden door is a stable style door (the top half can be opened seperately from the bottom...a nice touch and has character. How many people get to say ......... "I Stayed in an " Old English Sweet Shop" from Bygone Days"...... (Just look above that entrance door every-time you return to your (Holiday) "Home" after a day or evening exploring ......it states "The Old Sweet Shop". Whether you are American, Canadian, Australian or New-Zealander......wanting to explore Family Ancestry, (or just that true feel of History that the UK offer's). The cottage is very central to explore the Town Centre, River-side & Period Properties to take you back-in-time & feel you are in a film-set of "Ye Olde England". Experience the quaint Saturday "Market Square" on cobbled street's and pick-up a souvenir to take home. There is the history museum in the town, of the English Civil War, a must see. Find out more about "Robin Hood and his Merry Men", not forgetting "Sherwood Forest", ( His "Secret Hide-Away" from the "Sheriff of Nottingham" ) ......... Another adventure to explore close-by. Ideal location to try numerous Bars & Restaurant's with various Cuisine's ........and your typical Fast-Food Chain's for children. Take a trip on the river boat's, which are close-by. Also a good base to explore further a-field eg. ........ Large Historical Properties with Walled Gardens, Parks, Safari Park (great for children), Cities such as Nottingham, Sheffied, Doncaster & Leeds ....... or London in no time at all. " No Wonder Robin Hood's Men were So Merry "
Negative: Nothing worth mentioning ....... possibly a very small back garden, but who needs a garden when you will be filling your day's & evening's soaking up your environment ......... why waste a minute when you want to build all those memories ?
Summary: A Place to make your (Holiday) "Home away from Home".

Positive: We liked it's cottage character and homely feel. Heating throughout ensured we were warm The bathroom was modern and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Close to the market place and an easy walk to places of interest.
Negative: I would have liked a dishwasher, this gives you confidence that all tableware is thoroughly clean and you feel comfortable eating with it. The washing machine without a dryer was not practical for us, with the inclement weather.
