Positive: The history of the home and being part of it for a moment in time.
Negative: Downstairs was dark even with lighting and would have liked to use the tv in that space as it had a beautiful big fireplace which I decided not to use because the tv was in a difficult spot. There is a nice sitting room space with an extra tv but no fireplace in but the home is still warm and cosy. Wifi didn’t work the best..
Summary: I felt privileged to have been in this historical home with its old furniture and tapestries.. place provided everything

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at The Pend. The historic furniture and beautiful fireplace made the house feel so cosy and full of character. It truly felt like stepping back in time, yet with all the comfort we needed. Such a charming and special place – we loved every moment of our stay.
Negative: The main room was a little dark in the evenings, even with all the lights on, but in a way it added to the authentic atmosphere – it really felt like experiencing how people might have lived in the Middle Ages by candlelight.

Positive: The double bed was comfortable, and the shower was great
Negative: Furniture was very uncomfortable and old, had to search for things like cutlery, tv downstairs. There was no extra bedding so it was quite cold. Banged my head on the back kitchen doorway at least adozen times, ended up with a big sore on my head. No firewood for the fire after one night. The two single beds are tiny . All in all its not a very comfy house

Positive: It's a very charming property and has lovely historical features. A nice big fireplace and traditional old decor to match the antiquity of the building. The town itself is historically interesting due to the priory of St Ninian, and there are all sorts of things to do around the town and short drives to other nearby towns. The children really enjoyed the Pend and will remember it since it is so quirky.
Negative: If you like cooking, the kitchen is a little cramped, I guess being so old it can't really accommodate a modern kitchen. But all the necessities are there and we cooked evening meals and breakfast, and the dishwasher made cleaning up easy. The bathroom only has a hand shower in the tub and having it hands-free would be a useful upgrade.
Summary: We enjoyed our stay, were very comfortable, it was definitely worth the visit.
