Positive: Although I booked the Poddy, the owners kindly upgraded me to the Nook, which is on the same site. The Nook proved to be excellent for my purpose, which was to write. The outside temperature dropped to freezing towards the end of my stay, but the Nook remained warm and cosy. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the owners kindly provided a bottle of wine.

Negative: The only very minor drawback is that the hamlet of Bushton has no pub within walking distance.

Summary: The Nook perfectly met my need for a quiet and cosy writing retreat.

Positive: The owners were really friendly and very hard working the animals just made the pitch perfect reminds me of the proper countryside the lodge was very beautiful and welcoming

Positive: Gorgeous, very quiet location, ponies as neighbors, yet close to shops and restaurants in Royals Wootton Bassett. Hostess is friendly and helpful! We stayed in The Nook cottage rather than the Poddy but viewed the Poddy too. And both properties were so clean and well arranged. I recommend these chalets or the Poddy for a really quiet country break and exploring Wiltshire.

Positive: How it was so well equipped, we literally couldn’t think of anything else we might have needed it was all there. It was so clean and warm. Plenty of hot water and everything worked really efficiently

Negative: Extra pillows would have been good. But that’s just me being picky and I’m sure if I’d asked then the owners would have obliged
