Positive: Its position was great, in the centre of the village, however cars had to be parked a fair way from the hotel and I had trouble locating mine the next day.

Negative: When leaving the next morning, couldn’t find anyone to check out, very impersonal.

Summary: Nice place to stay, expensive for a single room.

Positive: The bed and the bathroom were clean.

Negative: The carpet was not clean and the bathroom was extremely small. The person serving breakfast thinks she’s funny and was making jokes and comments to every guest choice of breakfast. They barely had anything that I could eat (I know it’s not their fault that I have dietary restrictions) but she couldn’t help herself but to comment that my food was “not very palatable” when she brought it to the table. Wasn’t even an option not to pay for breakfast.

Summary: Reasonably comfortable, hugely overpriced.

Negative: We didnt like the absebce of the front office and the lack of assistance of the costumer. Moreover the price for a small room Is too high.

Positive: Room recently refurbished with modern bathroom. Room cleaned. Excellent breakfast with wide choice. Staff welcoming and friendly. Location perfect. Pity the dining room was closed by the close-by sister Ferry Inn excellent

Positive: Great location in the middle of Stromness. Room had a lovely view of the harbour. Breakfast amazing with a massive range of choice. The porridge with rhubarb compote and cream was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
