Positive: Everything about our stay was fabulous! The hosts were so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely welcome pack on arrival and a kitchen that had everything we needed. The location was close enough to Stromness for convenience (20 minute walk), but felt wonderfully remote. The views from the living room across the Hoy Sound were absolutely stunning. The bedroom was so cosy and comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a great walk in shower! The cottage is very well placed for visiting the Neolithic sites and Stromness has good bus links to Kirkwall and the rest of the island.

Negative: Everything was perfect!

Summary: Cosy cottage with coastal views.

Positive: The view was amazing. A bit expensive, at least for off season. Still, no regrets. And owners came to greet me and were lovely.

Negative: Would be nice to have a light by the couch in the living room. The overhead light is so bright and would be better to have a a warmer color temperature bulb for that room.

Summary: Great spot. The view is amazing. Better than the pictures convey.

Positive: Everything about the cottage is outstanding. Recently renovated to a very high standard, Reka Vik was the perfect place to spend a few days. The craftsmanship and finishes are first rate, the kitchen had everything we needed (and then some), the bathroom is roomy and very functional, and the bedroom is comfortable. The living area has the most amazing view, and we had a hard time leaving. And, the location is ideal. Our only regret is not having had more time--we hope to return!

Negative: There was nothing we didn't like. Reka Vik is the ideal vacation cottage.

Positive: The property is beautiful and in a spectacularly beautiful spot. I never tired of just looking at the view over Scapa Flow from the living room window. The owners went above and beyond, driving us into Stromness to the local Co Op to buy food on our first evening since we had arrived too late to collect our hre car. The cottage was spotless, gorgeously rennovated and very cosy. It was an ideal base for visiting all the wonderful historic sites around the island. We can't recomend highly enough.

Negative: There was really nothing that i can think of that could be improved upon.

Summary: A totally idylic holiday let.

Positive: It took us a little while to find the apartment even though the landlady sent us very detailed instructions in advance. The location of the house and the views were a pleasant surprise. When we opened the door we fell in love with this apartment. Equipped with everything necessary to provide a comfortable stay, it is tastefully decorated.

Negative: An indoor clothesline can be useful.

Positive: Dawn met us at the property and welcomed us, explained the heating system etc. We really liked the fact the handover was personal and we were made to feel very welcome.
