Our guests will love sitting and watching the river roll by while listening to the birds in the trees and catching glimpses of wildlife, cozying up by the fireplace and reading a good book, or swimming at nearby Greer's Ferry Lake. The possibilities are endless!
Located on one of the local guide’s favorite fishing spots, the trout are waiting for you. Fish from the dock, hire a guide down the road at Red River Trout Dock, or take your waders to Cow Shoals and fly fish. The Rustic Retreat is ideally located for all your trout fishing adventures. If fishing isn’t your thing or if you need a change of scenery, head just a few minutes away to Sugarloaf Mountain for a beautiful hike. Visitors can also find a wonderful disc golf course as well as more hiking at Mossy Bluff National Nature Trail and Disc Golf. For those who enjoy water sports, there are plenty of boats available to rent on Greer’s Ferry Lake for tubing, waterskiing, and wake boarding.
The Rustic Retreat offers the best of home away from home. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area is beautiful with dramatic vaulted ceiling and stone fireplace. Behind the fireplace, the sunroom's wall of windows open up to beautiful views of the river. Sipping coffee at the café tables or getting some work done at the desk is always better with a view. The well-appointed kitchen has everything needed for any culinary undertaking. There's also a charcoal grill on the patio, bring your own coals.
Our 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin sleeps 8 thanks to our new bunkroom. The main bedroom has a king size bed and private bathroom with a walk-in shower. With space for 5, the bunkroom boasts a twin over twin bunkbed and a twin over full bunkbed. Additional sleeping space on the twin pull out sofa in the sunroom. The large guest bathroom has a tub/shower and houses the full size washer and dryer.

Summary: I was the grandmother, tending the 3 year old and doing most all of our eat-in cooking. My adult 33 year old son and wife enjoyed the trout fishing and grilled their catch for us. We shared, numerous times, the question of, "How could we have chosen a better quiet, well equipped cabin?" To sum it all up....our family had a great enjoyable time together! Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity!

Summary: We loved our Red River get away even if we didnt catch fish. The dock was great and surroundings were nice to see each morning. We loved the location and the house set up. It was easy for the 4 of us to sleep and hang out. We love Brothers barbecue and the Smokehouse. Great food. Plus Walmart is close close. And a gas station. together.

Summary: We book this cabin just for a family getaway as we like to fish in the little red river. Property was great and even had a dock that you can fish from. It was also close to Heber Springs for restaraunts and any other needs. Would stay here again if we visit the area in the future

Summary: We planned a trip to view the total solar eclipse and found this place based on location of totality. This cabin was everything we needed and more. Fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, toaster oven and drip coffee maker. Wood burning fireplace with everything needed, although we didn't use it as it wasn't cold enough. Full size washer and dryer, a must for me when I travel. Plenty of seating for the 7 of us. Extra blankets which is something you don't normally get. Large front yard and plenty of parking space. Outdoor seating provided. The path to the dock on the Red River is fairly steep but there are handrails. Communication and check in was easy. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. We found many things to do in Heber Springs.
