Negative: Water ran cold so couldn’t have a bath (it’s a big bath). Decor could also be updated.

Positive: Such a quaint cottage in an amazing setting. Some people highlight that the furnishings could be upgraded, or the walls painted….. the cottage is functional and the prices reflect the lack of upgrade - but to do that you would lose the simplicity and beauty of it.. but beyond that… what do you have on your doorstep.. silence, time to reflect, time to stand still and enjoy where you are. To not have connection to the outside world was amazing.

Negative: There was nothing I didn’t like.. the shower refused to go hot on our last morning but I survived :)

Positive: Love this cottage. No WiFi no phone signal, perfect tech detox. Just what we love about this place. So cosy after a long walk up a mountain in the rain. Perfect location. It has everything you need. 2nd time here. Will be back. Communication great as well. Thank you

Positive: Lovely secluded location in the countryside on the edge of the Cairngorms. Nice fireplace and supply of wood provided, with coal available to purchase. Towels, bedding, dish washing essentials and toilet roll all provided.

Negative: The smell of the cottage - the smell of dog was hard to mask. The room with the single beds also suffers from dampness which also adds a musky smell. The booking process did not at all mention the additional costs sought once there, to pay for all electricity used. Such costs should be accounted for in the booking or clearly set-out when booking.

Summary: Good value cosy cottage in lovely location, but be aware of additional electricity costs & dog smell
