Positive: Lovely lodge, beautifully decorated with everything you need. Lovely location with views of the countryside. Hosts were lovely and welcoming. The pond by the lodge is nice to walk round and watch the wildlife. Binoculars are there to use. It's nice and peaceful, we enjoyed our stay
Negative: Not really a dislike but the photos are misleading. The lodge is shown from the other side of what seems a good size body of water...as it says lake view...that's what was expected. In fact it's a pond. This was a minor disappointment as I had imagined a leisurely stroll around a good size lake . You cannot see lodge from the opposite side as mother nature has run amok. Which in itself isn't a negative, just you don't get the view as pictured. Also I think the area around the pond is underutilized. There's two nice picnic tables in the undergrowth at the opposite end of the pond...would be nice if one was on the grassy area by the pond to use. Just a thought. Also there's a gate in the enclosed patio area , hard to open. We were told we could walk round the field but there is actually no access to. The gate just leads to the ditch around the field which is overgrown...as nature does. We tried the road way to see if access, there is a way but barred by a locked gate. So no luck. .

Negative: Wouldn’t suit anyone really tall due to the sloped roof.
Summary: Relaxing and the two hosts were absolutely amazing.

Positive: The finish was really attractive. The beds were extremely comfortable, and loved the extra festive touches dotted around the property. Beautiful views over the fields and lake. Despite the busy road, you didn’t notice the vehicles too much. The crockery and lovely touches using recycled pots for milk tea and coffee were noticed and welcomed.
Negative: It was quite dusty around the property. Tried to use one of the facecloths on the side of the bath, and it made the water milky from the dust. There was a bulb out in the bathroom spotlight. There were some bothersome flies and moths. Even finding a dead fly in the bed at one point, which was a little off putting.

Positive: A very pleasant stay. The interior is tastefully kitted out and the elevated vantage point provides impressive and varied views across farmland and a small lake. We were extra fortunate to visit during Autumn, which made the surrounding foliage even more colourful. Lots of natural light incoming during daylight hours. Pleasant and varied lighting options for after dark. Some really nice small touches too, including binoculars to look out on the wildlife (we saw a heron on the lake). The kitchen has everything you need; I had a roast on the table within 1.5 hours of a slightly late arrival. I’d thoroughly recommend a stay. It tops my list for future visits to the area.
