Positive: We left our heart in Tropea and Lucia’s beautiful apartment. From the moment you book your holiday here, Lucia’s communications make you feel right at home and you cannot wait to get to Tropea. We arrived and we immediately felt like part of the family. From homemade treats to a history of the apartment that has been in her family for generations, you could not feel more welcome. Lucia & Domenico (her son) were so helpful with recommendations for Tropea and even booked a boat tour for us. Nothing was too much effort. The apartment is on the top floor of a traditional palazzo in the historic centre, there are traditional stairs to go with this, but it isn’t too strenuous but keep in mind if you have mobility issues. The apartment is renovated but traditional and you feel like you are in Calabria. It is well appointed and has everything you need with 3 balconies that look out to the piazza below and the sea in the distance. The bathroom is small, but clean and well appointed. You are within minutes from everything in Tropea - cafes, restaurants, markets, shops, train station. The staircase down to the beachfront and port is 100 metres from the doorstep. Tropea beach is a dream! That water is everything you expect and more! We absolutely loved our time in Tropea, and a big part of that is because of Lucia, Domenico and this fabulous apartment. We cannot rate this highly enough and cannot wait to return again. Grazie Mille Lucia e Domenico, alla prossima, amici nostri ❤️

Negative: Not a thing, even the 5 floors of stairs that gave our exercise and the smaller bathroom that was so quaintly Italian that you came to love it!

Positive: The apartment is situated in a perfect spot in Tropea and is clean, spacious and filled with natural light. Lucia has decorated the apartment with great style, charm and authenticity. However the best part of our stay was the hosts! They showered us with wine, cheese and cakes. They were extremely helpful and booked taxis, boat tours and recommended where we should eat- without being too obtrusive. A great find! We will be back.

Negative: We wished we had stayed longer!

Positive: The apartment is light and airy, with high ceilings and carefully selected decor. We enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the balcony with side sea views. The air condition in both the bed and living room worked flawlessly and was very quiet. The place is perfectly located in the historic old town of Tropea: 5 minutes to the beach, a few steps to restaurants and shops but in a quiet side street. Lucia and her whole family welcomed us like family members, treated to us to delicious snacks and foods and were always available for any questions. It is a unique and wonderful place to spend an forgettable holiday. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

Positive: Beautiful apartment in the centre of Tropea, we had a wonderful stay here and would 100% recommend it! The apartment is light and spacious with everything you need for a really comfortable stay- the air conditioning was excellent, as was the wi-fi, and the kitchen had everything you need for cooking (though we didn’t do any!). One of the balconies has a lovely sea view. The apartment puts you right in the middle of the historical centre of Tropea and just a short walk from the beach. It’s obvious that a lot of care and attention has gone into it. Lucia and her family were exceptionally kind to us, I was travelling with two small kids and we felt really well looked after- Lucia had kindly bought some sweets for them when we arrived and was in touch during out stay to make sure we had everything we needed (and even gave us some of her lovely Tropea onions to take home with us!) Thank you so much for your kindness Lucia and family!

Positive: We had a great time in Tropea and the apartment made it even more enjoyable. All the rooms are beautiful (we and our kids loved it). It can be felt from every detail in each of the rooms how much love has been put into place to make the guests feel very comfortable. There was everything that we as a family would need. Our hosts, Lucia and her son Domenico are incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome with a little snack that was so refreshing after our long journey. They were always there ready to help, giving advice and hints. After our outings, we could relax in the air-conditioned rooms, which were pleasant to rest in before embarking on another adventure in Tropea. The mornings were beautiful too, as we opened the balconies, enjoyed coffee, and took in the stunning sea views.

Positive: Everything! This was our third trip to Tropea and by far the best. We stayed 10 days and found Tra Vicoli to be the perfect place for our visit - and in past visits we were not able to say that. The host family is warm, outgoing, helpful, thoughtful - in short, the sort of hosts you hope to encounter - who are your local experts and friends who were always available - but never imposing. Prior to our arrival and at our request the host reserved a parking spot in a private parking lot. The apartment is in a great location in the old historic part of the city and has every amenity - but thankfully is in a quiet area. The AC worked perfectly - there are two separate units: one for the large bedroom and one for the living room (or second bedroom by using the comfortable sofa bed). The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. There are three balconies/terraces. We used the balcony off the kitchen often - for a glass of wine while watching the sea and sky or with a morning cup of coffee from the wonderful coffee machine - and there's something really special about being able to enjoy a fresh breeze while watching the city come alive with the brilliant blue sea in the background There are a couple of restaurants in the square near the apartment - but all of Tropea is within easy walking distance. The king sized bed is firm and comfortable. The kitchen has a full complement of appliances - and they all work well - and a very handy washing machine in the kitchen which came in very handy. We can't wait to get back next year.

Negative: Not a problem for us, but its always good to know in advance: there are lots of stairs in Tropea: the stairs down to the beach or marina are quite long. The apartment is located on the third floor of a lovely old stone building that has been well maintained and updated. Be prepared for the stairs - just something I like to know in advance.

Summary: Wonderful 10 days greatly enhanced by the lovely property and the terrific hosts. Go!

Positive: The apartment consists of a very large living room with two couches and a comfy chair, and an equally large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. There is a separate well equipped kitchen and a small bathroom with a good shower. There are three small balconies, one each off the living room, bedroom and kitchen, with views to the sea. The location is tough to beat, right in the heart of the old town (we didn’t have a car, so parking was not an issue). However, the best aspect of the apartment was the amazing hospitality extended by Lucia and her son. Literally minutes after I made the booking request Lucia reached out personally, and was in touch regularly in the months leading up to our arrival. Her son met us at the train station to drive us to the apartment, where Lucia greeted us with gifts of food and wine. She communicated with us daily to make sure everything was okay, offered to drive us to attractions, and brought us fruits and liqueurs in the evening. If there was anything we needed, she was just across the hall. In short, she was a wonderful friend in Tropea.

Negative: More a heads up than a dislike, but the apartment is up 50+ stairs in a building with heritage protection (ie: no elevator allowed) so if mobility is a concern this apartment is not appropriate.

Summary: Huge apartment in a great location, with fabulous host.

Positive: Staying in Lucia’s apartment was an amazing experience and like visiting family. Communication before hand was incredible and very helpful. Lucia sorted out local parking for us and on arrival picked us up in town and gave a quick tour. We were welcomed with local goodies and necessities (coffee, milk, wine and cookies). Apartment was spacious and perfect for a couple and two kids. We loved everything and looking forward to coming back.

Negative: That we didn’t stay longer.

Summary: One of the best apartments we’ve been to, perfect location and host.
