River View Cottage is a traditional croft cottage stone built in circa 1910 and retains all its original charm on the outside but has been internally modernised. The cottage is detached and sits in a rural elevated setting, with lovely views over the meandering river Snizort. Situated only 5 miles from the principle town of Portree, and a 10 minute drive to the Western Isles ferry terminal, the cottage is ideally located for touring around the island. With modern furnishings throughout, a cosy livingroom, fully equipped kitchen (with dining table), wetroom with walk in shower. Two double and one single bedrooms. Private garden with large parking area. Linen and towels provided.

Summary: Comfortable bed with nice bed linen. We found the address a bit confusing to find. Easy parking, although the turn into driveway is tight in one direction. Lovely view. Not far from Portree. Biscuits were nice but would have preferred real milk instead of sachets that were provided. Host was responsive.

Summary: The cottage was sparkling clean and the views of the river were beautiful. There was everything you needed to cook with available and the co-op supermarket in Portree a 5 minute drive away is more than adequate. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs which is good if anyone has mobility issues. Everything worked perfectly including the heating, WiFi and shower. Tip: look out for the sign that says "Deas Graemar Croft no 4 Crepigill" by the road and keep driving, then you'll see the River View Cottage sign.

Summary: The River View Cottage on The Isle of Skye in very beautiful surroundings. It is remote and quiet, but easily accessible from the main road A850. The cottage is very clean with a wonderfully appointed kitchen for those who enjoy their home cooking. Turn left from the driveway on A850 and it's a 7 minute drive to Portree, with a large CO OP supermarket that carries a selection equal to a large city market. We will definitely stay in this cottage again, should we plan a 4th vacation to Skye.
